Alright, I want an opinion or even information on something...
I'm sure a lot of people think he molests kids, but I play skeptic on it.
A lot of people say it's because he lets kids sleep on his bed, but if
that's the case, then millions of parents in America are guilty of the act.
Eh, I don't know what to think really. I've not seen anyone get anymore
hard proof. If anyone has some information that I am missing out on, then
I would like to hear it.
I just play skeptic because one of the first cases was with someone who was
the son of someone that Michael Jackson fired. I'm not sure about the
other cases. This isn't asked because I am a big fan of MJ, but it doesn't
mean that I have to assume everything that the common says is correct.

Kids being in the same bed as an adult raises a lot of questions. It's one
thing if it's someone's own kids, because it's generally assumed that there
is nothing going on out of the ordinary if it's before a certain age...even
after a certain age if everything else seems all in check. It's entirely
another thing if the kids are not your own kids. When it's not your own
kids, and there is not even the defense that they were sleeping over with
my son or daughter and got scared and got in bed with me, then that's where
all the red flags start flying up. ____________________ "When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've never

See I don't think he's the monster everyone makes him out to be either.
I'm not sure, of course, and I wasn't there. The thing that sends up red
flags (and has since the very "first" accusation) is that the parents opt
to settle out of court for an exhorbitant amount of money. Should I have a
child in that situation, I would push to the very end to publicly fry the
fucker that laid a finger on them, money be damned. But to so many people
this man is a cash cow WAITING for slaughter.
Granted, after the first "fiasco" I would, if I were him, have been SO
CAREFUL to never put myself in that kind of situation again. If he's
guilty of anything, it's of being careless in how he presents himself, and
that he sets himself up for things like this.
The only GOOD thing is that THIS time, the law has changed, and once
charges are pressed and court has been set, the parents can't just take his
money and run. The victim HAS to testify, and then hopefully the truth
will come out. ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

I wholeheartedly agree with you Bettie. I just think that celebrities
either have to get a lot of attention, or people MAKE them get a lot of
attention.

Well, if indeed the kid was molested, the trauma of being on the stand will
be absolutely nothing compared to being sexually molested.

People love celebrities because it gives them a cathartic sense of watching
fish in a fishbowl, and an even better catharticism of pouring bleach in or
shaking the bowl. We love them because yes, their behavior is often bad,
no worse than ours, but since they're spotlighted every public pissing,
loogie on the sidewalk, or horrible outfit is a SPECTACLE and EVERYONE
can't wait to give their ultra uninformed opinion. It's the cruelest form
of armchair football, but it comes with the job.
Now michael jackson on the other hand IS wierd, and hence will always draw
massive amounts of attention. Anyone who's steadily carved off their face
and engaged in bizarre and sometimes disturbing behavior for the past 20
years and still has as much $$ as he does is GOING to generate nothing BUT
rumors, allegations, fear, and accusations, as well as attract the kind of
people that want his money or his notoriety, or the money that will resort
in any sort of sold expose or wild tale told to the press.
He discussed how Macaulay Kulkin and his brother Kenan would sleep over,
both in his bed. Granted if I had children spending the night I wouldn't
want them sleeping in an adult's bed, but that doesn't mean that they're
molesting them. It means that they're a little "wierd", but that doesn't
mean anything happened. Michael's problem is that in his head he too is
still a child, and he doesn't recognize that he's not, and that it isn't a
child and a child having a slumberparty, or two children sharing a bed,
it's a grown man and a child that is not his. He still so desperately
wants to be a child, to start over, that he doesn't understand that try as
he might, he's still an adult, still a target, and HAS to mind his step.
It'll all come out in court tho, I suppose. He makes me very sad for him. ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

Anya: parents is one thing... but we're talking about someone elses kids...
but I ask... what does it matter? I have never understood the human
penchant to be concerned with what a celebrity did or di not do... ____________________ The earth turns on a tilted axis - just doing the best it can.

Feral, this isn't like the Britney-Madonna kiss or Christina Aguilera's
bustier...MJ stands accused of taking advantage of his relationship with a
minor in a non-consensual way.
Sure, I'll bet that the parents are after money, especially if it turns out
that they are just taking advantage of MJ admitting to sleeping in the same
bed with kids who aren't his own.
What galls me is the idea of non-consensual sex between an adult and a
child, ie rape, molestation. A teenager is more likely to be able to
control what happens to him or her sexually, but not a young child. Kids
have an amazingly high level of trust, and I think that people who take
advantage of that trust for their own gratification are...well, there's not
a good word for it... If it's consensual, that's one thing, but if it's
coerced or forced...it's pure evil...
But, again, my views are based on what I've come from...

I dont know if I think MJ is guilty or not, but I wont be surprised if its
all just a money grab. If he is guilty I hope he goes to jail for a long
long time. I do feel sorry for him though, he has led a very messed up
life and has been in the spotlight for almost all of it - that would make
anyone weird. I am not excusing his baby-dangling and other crazy things,
but every bad thing he does is blown out of proportion. |

and again I ask...WHAT DOES IT MATTER TO US? the only reason it is news is
because the dude is famous... in boone county there was a man convicted of
35 counts of indecent liberties with a minor and prostitution of a minor as
well as statutory... but that didn't even hit the papers...

Feral, you've hit the nail on the head. Nobody in the media give a shit
about something unless it is heinous beyond heinous or involves someone
rich and/or famous.

fuck the media... I was asking why WE care... the media has a
responsibility that they have not lived up to in quite some time... the
sensationalistic bullshit has been covered in my column before... They
would stop reporting it if we, as a species, did not drink this shit in
like mother's milk...

Well, maybe people just like seeing the person with more whatever end up in
a worse situation...
Sort of the whole, "Ha ha. My life sucks, but look what this rich and
famous scheissekopf did!" mentality. Seeing other people fuck up worse
than one's self does tend to make one feel better about one's own
mistakes.

nope..It's just the way people are, I guess...*sighs in agreement*
I wish I knew why people do the things that they do...but we're all
probably better off not knowing...
I still feel sorry for the kids, though. If they aren't being exploited by
MJ, then they are most certainly being exploited by their parents. There
are less traumatic ways to make money. ____________________ "To Live is to Annoy." -- Rev. Lambert Reilly, Archabbot, St. Meinrad Abbey |

well... no offense to anyone... but if he went to jail... this is not a
case being pressed by the parents... that would be a civil suit, in which
no one can be jailed. This is a criminal suit... in many cases, the
governmen will press charges... IF there is a civil suit, it is not
happening at this moment...

I just can't believe they are breaking through my regularly scheduled
programming to give Michael Jackson updates. I only watch a couple of
programs regularly anyway, and I don't need them to be interupted by
lawyers squawking back and forth about who did what, what was in some
secret hidden room, or how much debt the poor guy is in. ____________________ Okay, dazzle me. |
