What the hell is the point of being goth, everyone treats me like shit,
but... what's new, is anyone feeling me here. And how about people not
talking to me cuz I'm dressed in all black, thats gets fucking annoying.
And when people see my wiccan stuff, like they didn't know I was alittle
bit different. Thats fucking great, those dickheads. Why can't I get
thru to them that goth is a culture and not a fucking style? Fucking Christ,
is anyone feeling me here? ____________________ If there's no rest for the wicked, why am I tired all the goddamn time...? |

The WTF discussion has been bled to death and then some around here.
I remember reading in a article here which stated if you can't take
criticism or alienation then go and return your fishnets now...or something
to that nature. Think ‘bout it.
You can’t change everyone’s perception of how you see “goff” as a culture
and not a style. And why should you? If they want to be belligerently
ignorant then don’t waste your time around them. Sooner or later you’ll
come across open minded folk who’ll accept you and not throw around random
insults against your outer appearance.
Ack, I sound like a self-help book.
Just have patience. Don’t bother wallowing around in any derogatory
emotions either because of those people (I know, that’s something I should
practice)...remember: Youth is wasted on the young. ____________________ but at least you know, just how much pain there is in living |

I agree.... eh, we all (well, most of us) get it, I've grown used to it and
frankly couldnt care less anymore. It doesnt help to whine about it, all
that does is prove its getting to you. To be honest, why you would want
someone so narrow-minded to speak to you anyway is beyond me, so you're
simply giving people a chance to show their true colours (and mine is
blacker than black, yo) and from there you can pick the people that accept
you and are mature enough to deal with difference, and hang around with
them. ____________________ Let viagra bring the magic back. |

Hmm. Been there, done that - not such a problem anymore .
People are going to be people. It's going to annoy you for it is possible
that it became a problem for you as well. There's going to be prejudice
everywhere *hasn't met anyone who isn't at least a -little- prejudice*,
just some seem to be a lot more prejudice than others. Hey, it use to
bother me too, but the best you can do is show them by example that you're
not that bad of a person. If they doesn't get to them, well, that's their
problem. Again, I maybe do not give that great of advice.
As for the point thing, I'll not comment - just look at the other forums
involving a similar topic for this topic has been brought up so many times.
Bettie: I'm with you there. As I said, I use to get upset over my style,
but learned to accept it and give the infamous birdy to those who make
assumptions over someone they do not know. Hehe.
AloneSoul, IronBoots: You're right. This topic has been beaten out of
form.

Regardless of how you dress, NOBODY escapes highschool without some picking
to some degree. If you make yourself a target, your going to get aimed at
more than the average person. Yes, it's unfair, but that's life, and
you'll find that life gets a LOT more unfair, and has LESS to do with your
appearance as life goes on. It's a lose lose situation. You'll also find
that those same people that thought they were hot shit in highschool will
eventually hit the real world and get their come-uppins too, and not be the
horrid people they used to be. Some will sadly stay the same, superficial,
pathetic, brainless twats, and they too, will get what's coming to them.
So in that aspect, you win.
I understand that as a teenager school is about 75% of your life and
interaction with people in general. I also understand that when it
doesn't go even halfway smoothly it reeeeaaaly sucks. BUT you can make the
best of it, learn to have fun with it, or wallow in it ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

MW it's now POSSIBLE for two chicks to breed?! Where was I when this
happened?!
And I'll go anywhere as long as I can fit my husband into a carryon case
And I didn't intend to come off mean, darlin, it's just that if you ask
most people what they REALLY thought about their highschool years, you'll
get a pretty common answer:
"it sucked."
On this site there are older people, from which you'll get either good
advice or "been there, done that" and there are younger people that will
also have decent advice, but be more willing to commiserate as they're
going through it too.
Also take into account that my husband bought me tequila...and tequilla
makes me crazy and mean right before I pass out ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

Daniel, look at things this way. If you hate people and those people are
insulting you, I would be proud. I take insults from the people I dislike
as compliments. It's sort of proof that you're doing the right thing (and
it also really fucks with their heads).
Bettie, it's possible to fit a man inside a suitcase if you cut him up

Well, on the "take it as a compliment" note, people usually put way more
energy and time into hating and picking on someone than they do when they
love someone, so in essence they're devoting all that time and energy into
little ol' you. THEY'RE wasting their breath on something pointless and
stupid, so if you can learn to shrug it off, then you're coming out
ahead...at least in the energy expension aspect of the deal.
And callei, would you know where a girl could acquire hinges and
installation on a man type love machine? Just in case I ever need to leave
quickly, and quietly... ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

Daniel: When people are wasting hate on others, it more or less means that
they face it a lot too. People, often enough, have to be taught to hate,
whether subliminally or outright. "What monkey see, monkey do" would be an
okay way to put it. Hehe. Just try to learn from them and do best not to
fall in the same box.
Basically, yeah - do not let them get to you (probably heard this
3893495485756848 times but oh well). If you let them annoy you, they'll
see that as a reaction that they're doing what they want to be doing half
of the time. Hehe. Again, personal experience...sometimes it's a case
where you cannot counter fire with fire.
