Love exists, it's just not quite as bright and shiny as the Disney movies
would like you to believe.
Love is damn tough stuff, and it's hard as nails. That heady, rushing
feeling you get around that special someone? That's not love, that's
adrenaline. It wears off. Actually, tends to come and go. If that's what
you're looking for, prepare to be disappointed.
The best definition of love that I can find is a willingness to do the hard
thing for another's benefit. Which can also be interpreted conversely, to
not do the easy thing for another's benefit. In other words, don't do
everything for someone who needs to do it on their own. Babying isn't
love. It's indulging your desire to be someone's fairy godmother.
Which is why love takes understanding. You can't love someone you don't
know. You can want to love them, but until you know what they need, you
won't be able to do anything about it. But I guess to take the trouble to
find out a person's needs is the first flowerings of real love.
And that's why love grows deeper, even if the excitement fades. Love has
very little to do with excitement. Excitement is to love what alcohol is
to nourishing food. They go very well together, but it's the food that is
necessary for life.
And there is no perfect person for you. There are no perfect people,
period. Just find someone whose faults you can accept. When you really
love someone, often the faults end up being the things that endear them to
you the most. And find someone who accepts your faults. And then you can
support each other as you deal with life and all its challenges.
You will find that love in its steadiness, as it lives beneath the scenes,
almost unnoticed, yet essential to every part of your life, will be far
more satisfying than the intoxicating burst of extacy that sometimes
accompanies the start of a relationship.

Aww, that description made me feel all happy. Who needs Disney love? That
sounds just fine itself, and a heck of a lot more realistic.

A famous movie star once said, "Real love means never having to say sorry."
I've got some guesses, but still contemplating on it more.

You still say you are sorry. Even though you were forgive before you even
asked.

Love. Who is to say just what love is? I, personaly, believe it to be that
feeling you get when you are completely content with someone, even if they
sometimes annoy you or make you angry. But when you truly love someone, you
forgive them for their faults almost the moment they are displayed.
However, love can be taken away from you. So don't take it for granted and
as soon as you find it, hold on to it (without smothering the person) for
as long as you can, 'cause one day you could turn around and suddenly the
one you love could be gone from this world (or vis versa).

Love, to me is just being there when your someone special needs you, or
them being there for you. It's being a sturdy brace to lean on and a crying
shoulder for teary eyes. Love is trust and a mutual understanding of one
anothers wants and needs, and a willingness to fullfill both. Love is
looking for the good during the hard times, and appreciating the good times
when they come. And I guess, love is seeing completion of yourself in the
eyes of another.
