In May I'm being dragged to my boyfriend's sixth form ball... I dont know
what the equivalent of that is in America, but its sort of a leaving -
school thing, they're all around 18.
Anyway, in England there arent many decent places to buy gothic clothes
from, and I dont want to wear anything too theatrical. The only long,
proper dress I have has a big cross on the front and stuff, not quite what
I'm going for but I would like something nice that I feel comfortable
wearing, not all scary shiny pink stuff.
I'm willing to make my dress, or piece it together, if I cant find a site
or shop to get a nice one from. Does anyone have any ideas of what sort of
thing I could wear? If it helps, I particularly corsets and have a couple
of them, but I like I said, I dont really go for really theatrical, puffy
stuff. Thanks loads  ____________________

"Drac-in-a-box" is located in london and they have an online store.
I ordered my original wedding dress from there, but you guys and your wierd
sizes and such, it came out of the packaging and I thought someone sent me
a dress for a barbiedoll. They have some rather nice stuff, just typin in
dracinabox in a serch engine and you should get it.
Plus hell check out local dept stores, you'd be suprised. I almost WISH I
had a "formal" to go to, as there was this TO DIE FOR super madonna-ish
lookin dress that I wanted SO BAD. It had this wierd black stuff on top
that sort of reverse-dovetailed inthe front, and it was kinda sparkly and
it had this massive HOT PINK POOF underneath! I wanted it so bad, but I
knew I"d just end up running around the house in it every day and getting
it all funked up.
*sigh* I dont like the foofy stuff either, but goddammit sometimes I WANNA
BE A FECKIN PRINCESS! ____________________

if you live anywhere near London, try Camden.
or order from fairygothmother.com
or tell someone who can sow what you want, ant make/pay them to make it.
or get something from your nearest 2. hand outlet & modify it, like she did
in Pretty In Pink.
or put on whatever makes you look good.

As disgusting as it sounds, I would love a "foof" princess dress to goof
off in. There's nothing finer in the world than being drunk in a foofy
prom dress. Especially if you're me, because that, friends, is absolute
absurdity to think about, and it sounds like a damned fine time. And a
prime blackmail photo-op.
I don't mind foof, but you won't get me near anything frilly. I hate frilly
shit almost as much as I hate rennesaince (I know I messed up the spelling)
stuff. No frill, no ren. It's either foof or sleek "kick your ass and not
mess up my eyemakeup" clothes. I don't even like frilly UNDERWEAR. for
ANY occasion. But foof rules the roof, once in a while.
Eh, who am I kidding, whether or not I liked foof or frill or ren shit, I
always..>ALWAYS come out lookin like a bar bitch in a funny costume. *sigh* ____________________

Yeah, but see my wedding dress was FOOF not FRILL. And if I either had the
tits to hold it up or some feckin straps on it, I would have never taken it
off!
And you would wet yourself laughing if you saw me in something ren-ish
because I would look like the most dejected and unhappy motherfucker you've

I got it on sale at a department store too, the wierd thing is. It looks
white, but it's actually a super light lavendar (couldn't wear white
*snort* AHAHAHA DIRTY!) and it's PLAIN 'cept for the top which just had
some textured fabric and some decorative shit.
PLUS I got to wear these bitchin little clear plastic shoes that I found
for 5 bucks!
*sigh*
I think I'm gonna wait for another sale at the mall and get another prom
dress. EVERY girl needs something to kick back on the couch in, drink a
beer, and watch CNN. ____________________

I know what colour I want (dark red) so I might attempt to make mine...
problem is I want the top to be corset-like, and I cant exactly make
that.
Bah.
Ugh and shoes....nooo...I cant walk in heels. I may have to resort to

Well my ideal dress, the dress I've been planning on since I was 13 WAS
black.
But sometimes in the search for "that dress" you find something much much
better.
And never underestimate the power of "piecing". Find odds and ends here
and there and WHAMMO. Original, stylish, and 100% YOU. ____________________

I know I'll be sporting my fedora. And wishing I had the Tommy Gun for

Unfortunately, as a drop out, i get to miss out on my class reunions and
prom in favor of intellectual pursuits along the lines of watching
hop-heads inhale inordinate amounts of airplane glue and start jumping from
