Anyone here born of Wicca of Paganist background...or have any knowledge of
Elemental Affinities? I'm curious for my horoscope is the Aries in
European horoscopes and the Tiger in Asian horoscopes. Both of them direct
me to fire. However, when I take elemental quizzes and personality tests,
99% of them direct me to Earth. Is there anything people can or may wish
to add? |

Well you could be on a cusp. If you were born late in april, you may have a
lot of Taurus in you and that's an earth sign. You may have planets in
certain houses that also have earth affinities. I'm still new at the
astrology thing, I don't do well with very complicated subjects, and
astrology is very complicated, so that's the only advice I can really give
you. ____________________

YOu hit it MJ. I'm an Aries and all my other signs are straight up fire
signs, but I was born on a cusp (the 18th of april) a couple days before
taurus. My result was making me an ultra stubborn, ultra tempermental,
ultra driven aries. Even my boss could tell I was a cusp aries ( he's way
into astrology and such, it's almost scary how well he knows some of it)
because I'm a "driver" personality ie: get it done, get it done right, and
get it done NOW. And by "right" I mean MY WAY *stomp* It also makes me
very emotional and sort of "bipolar" in my personality. The one and only
time I had my cards read, the lady looked all sorts of nervous, and I won't
ever do that again! I drew TWICE (she had me redo it) every major arcana
card, and their layout and conjunction to each other were polar opposites
"Uhm..well..okay hang on". She kept scooting from the table to her
computer charts, back and forth, busted out a pendulum and then finally
said "I've never seen this before, but here we go..." Being dual
personalitied is very common to "cusplings", but apparently from the look
on her face I'm in the realm of "two face" from batman *LOL*
My only advice is go with what your body tells you. You probably have a
lot more fire tendencies than you think, but if earth is where you are,
just work with it ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

Elemental Affinity is connected to the stars and such, but is much more
made by your personality and sometimes even actual choices.
Of course, like Bettie, I'm aries all over and firey as hell...but
recently I figured that I actually act more in conjunction with the eastern
element of Wood. so...I'm fire and wood, which...er...prolly isn't the
absolute BEST of pairings to have...
wait a minute...::looks up at his first line:: strike that...reverse
it...
Oh hell...now I've gone and confused the holy hell out iof myself..balls.

Well, I was born on March 25th so I would think it's an early Aries stage.
A Wiccan friend described me as earth being the dominant, but my cynical
side (an air shadow) can lead to anger (a fire trait)...then when I
recognize my weaknesses, the pessimism of water takes onto me. The tests
I've taken I guess direct me to earth for I'm stubborn (sometimes lazy) but
enduring. |

I'm not a professional at astrology, either. If I had the money to get the
books right now, I would. Speaking of books, I need to finish my
Mesopotamian myths...... |

Western Astrology, especially if its Geocentric is fundamentally flawed as
it is outdated by more than 2 millenia. My advice is to consult a Vedic
Astrologer. ____________________

...Or if you choose to stick by the Western, it is important to check out
which is your ascending planet. That may well be more powerful than the
Sun planet. I scoffed mightily at astrology, being the least likely 'Virgo'
in the universe, but got a few suprises upon looking at the other planets
and the acendant in particular. ____________________ All stressed out and no one to choke...

Yeah...I think a lot of my questions on Western Astrology have been well
answered. For the Eastern one, however, I wasn't able to read much on it
in my amount of time at Barnes and Nobles. I'm the Tiger on the Eastern
one...supposively a fire one according to the years. However, again, I do
not have that many traits from Tiger.

Everyone has all the elementals in them (I mean without them we'd not be
living), but there's a dominant one (or more) usually...I don't doubt that
there's fire in me for that reason. |

Your element affininty could come from a number of things. Are you a
wiccan/pagan yourself, if you are do you prefer fire to earth. I'm a gemini
but i love water. Water is my element. I mean i dont go swimming loads but
it's always on my altar and i have a bathing addiction problem!
Maybe your subconsious is telling you that you need more earth in your
life.
If you go www.spiritonline.com/files/messages/13/287.html?0 it
can explain it better than i can! ____________________ Don't worry, it only seems kinky the first time.

I'm not sure if I made it clear in other forums or discussions about my
allegience to spiritual and religious beliefs, but I'll clarify it just in
case I haven't.
While I am not "religious", I open my mind to other spiritual beliefs. You
could call me a loose scholar (not too serious about the stuff yet but am
willing to learn); I acknowledge spiritual and religious beliefs. While
I'm not specialized at the stuff, I'm willing to learn about them. A
handful of my friends are from Christian branches or believe in Wicca...so
it may be possible they've motivated me to discern a deeper meaning in
their stuff dominantly.

I'm a Scorpio, sun, moon, mercury, mars, and uranus! Also born year of the
Dragon. Makes me damn competetive, and damn lucky, too, which ends up
meaning I'll fight it and I'll win it!
My daughter's Cancer, sun, moon, mercury, mars and jupiter. She's year of
the Horse.
The site I found the info. at also showed what element was associated with
your particular year. You can be, for example, a fire Tiger or a wood
Tiger, etc. I'm a fire Dragon, and Riley's a water Horse.
That makes 4 out of 10 of Riley's planets in water signs, and her year also
water. That's an almost scary amount of water influence. But it runs
strong in her family. Scorpio's water, too, so I have water planets. Her
father is Scorpio sun, mercury, mars and uranus, and Pisces moon and
jupiter. Her half-brother is Pisces sun, moon, mercury, mars, and saturn.
And her half-sister is Cancer sun and mercury, and Pisces jupiter. There's
enough water in our family to sail a ship on.
They say that water signs are most likely to be psychic. My boyfriend and
I have both had our moments, and it remains to be seen how the children
shape up. Of the 3, my step-daughter seems the least likely to show
psychic ability, and she also has the least water.
