Ok, Freddy was a child molester that was burned alive.
Jason was a sexually molested, mentally retarded, near drowned boy that
lived alone in the woods for a while then saw his mother get beheaded
before going on his rampage and comming back as a zombie.
Pumpkinhead and the Wishmaster were both demons.
The only one that I don't know why he was a killer is Micheal Meyers. I
think that if I knew why, then this damn movie would make some
sense.(Halloween 5 I believe...) ____________________ Sometimes I dream about dinosaurs shopping for cargo shorts at the Gap.

It's the classic "bad seed" syndrome...just born bad or crazy.
Pretty simple. I think the movies that scare me the most are movies about
just plain old straight up evil little kids. Not as enticing as demons,
perverts, or traumatised victims, but hold their own in their own right. |

I'm a bit perplexed about something and maybe you guys can help me figure
this out...
Freddy went to Hell and they killed Jason in Jason 9 or whatever, how the
hell do they keep coming back!?
And think that Jason X is worth a rental? I’m more inclined to pick up the
uncut version of Dead Alive. ____________________

According to the novelization of the movie Halloween (which was either
written by or approved through John Carpenter if memory serves... Christ,
it's probably been close to twenty years since I read the damned thing!)
Michael Myers was posessed by the spirit of a deformed 9th century Saxon
named Enda. Enda was spurned by the woman he loved, so he murdered she and
the man she was betrothed to. The villagers burned him. The woman he loved
was reincarnated as Michael Myers' sister, so Enda possessed little Mikey
to continue his revenge against lovers everywhere.
Hope that helps makes some sense of it all.

STILL can't find my brother's copy of the damn book and have only saw the
movie on the Sci-Fi channel.
Jason in Space. I'm sorry, that movie seems like "it's so bad it's good." ____________________

The reason why Freddy comes back is explained in Wes Cravens new Nightmare.
Rent it, it is a good one. Much better than any of the other nightmare
movies.
As for there being almost no continuity in the Friday movies, that would be
due to the fact that there are two companies that made them. The first 4
or 5 were made by one company, and they basicly follow one story line with
one picking up where the last left off. After that, the other company
takes over and you get shit like Jason takes Manhattan. Now, I must admit
that Jason Takes Manhattan is still worth seeing, it's not really the best
one out there.
Jason X was a damn fine movie. I would own a copy right now, but
unfortunately the people at the store can't find the little card thingy
that says I put $5 down to reserve it, which means that I have to look in
my room to find the receipt. When watching it, you just have to remember
that they wanted to spoof every other slasher flick out there while still
making a "serious" movie. It's a fun movie, so remember to laugh when
appropriate and don't complain because it gets corny in places, because
it's supposed to be. ____________________ Sometimes I dream about dinosaurs shopping for cargo shorts at the Gap.

heh, that's why I watch em...that and for the special effects. Gore and
such. It's always interesting to see new, twisted ways in which people
conceive for killing eachother.
Ah cynicism.
Still I think I'll check out Dead Alive first. ____________________

Stephen King's "IT" is about a demon that is killing little kids in a small
town one by one, luring them off to die in the guise of a clown with
balloons and cotton candy and such.
It starts out with a group of grownups, who made a pact as children that if
"IT" ever reared it's head again, they would ALL go back and defeat IT
again...because they had before and felt responsible to keep IT away.
THIS is why I hate clowns. That little boy that got his arm ripped off by
IT in a sewer drain after chasing his paper boat down the pipe and seeing a
clown holding it....*shudder* |

I agree with everything bettie_x said about the novel/movie "It" by Stephen
King...except that I remember a part in the novel that talks about when
they do discover where it lives it's some sort of giant spider of sorts...I
took it to be a demon-type spider of some sort...and also got the
impression it wasn't of this planet but of outer space somehow...because
there is talk also of "the turtle that vomited up universes"...I know that
sounds sort of weird...but I really remember reading those parts of the
book... ____________________ "When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've never

I wanna read the novel more because it's suppost to explain in greater
detail of what It is.
So, what is It? A demon, a giant space monster? *i don't want to spoil what
It is to anyone so I won't give away much details.*
And wasn't It played by Tim Curry? Even without the makeup, his voice,
apperance.... He is the perfect villian.
Oh and for a while I was slightly reluctant to open fortion cookies after
the first time I saw It. You know what I'm talking about. ____________________

Oh.. and New nightmare.. the best of the Elm Street movies... are you nuts?
IMHO... 1
and 3 were the best.. after that, they start getting rediculous. Friday the
13 part 6 was the best in that series.. I mean, come on! It had an entire
Alice Coper soundtrack! I never could get into the Halloween movies. Come
on guys.. don't forget Phantasm! ____________________ She who dies with the most toys wins! |

OK, I may be nuts, but the phantasm series???
Now the first one was pretty good, and the second was ok, once you get past
the part where fires off all four barrles of the shotgun at once with out
breaking his arm. Does have a cool scene with a house exploding and the
tall guy walking away from it.
But the third, not that one suck the goat, and sucked it hard. I mean,
where the hell does that little kid come from?? And with lines like "Ever
try vannilla?" And there are also the highly visible strings holding up
all the spheres. They should have fired the writers and hired some special
effects guys.
Now the House series seriously rocked. I remember watching late night TNT,
and at least once a month they would show Phantasm or House. And they had
that redneck dude (Joe Bob Briggs I believe). And of course on USA they
always played the killer animal movies like The Swarm, Slugs, or that one
about the guy that breeds Fireflies with cochroaches to make flying roaches
that can burn things. ____________________ Sometimes I dream about dinosaurs shopping for cargo shorts at the Gap.

I need to catch up on my horror movies. I have yet to watch Pet Cematary 1
and 2, Dagon, Creepy Crawlers, American Psycho 2, and one other I forget.
Those are just the ones on videos. I just saw Fraility, good enough to
rent. Still need to see Red Dragon, Ring. ____________________ co-worker: "Your gay!?"

I read "IT" when i was in the 8th grade, and the "beast" was not a the
spider looking BS they showed in the movie, you really didnt know what
"IT" was, it fucked with your mind and then ate you. That is the whole
mystery around "IT". The book could have been alot shorter if it didnt
have all that BS background info on Dairy.
And ill say this again see Event Horrison....you wont regret it.
Nightmare on Elm Street 3 was the the all time best! not tooo scary but
good...but i thought part 1&2 where the scariest. ____________________ "Roses are Red, Violets are Blue. I'm a schizophrenic, and so am I". |

Oh yeah...Event Horizon rocked !!!.....will always love the Evil Dead
Trilogy...big time....
when I saw the first Nightmare on Elm street it scared the crap out of
me....I went in the theatre expecting to see a movie about a psycho
terrorizing a block...not in their dreams and such...that really messed
with my mind when I saw that....so the next few I saw were scary as heck to
me....so for sheer screw with your mind value...I'd go with the Nightmare
movies....for scare the crap out of you when you camp....Friday the 13th
series.... ____________________ "When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've

See I thought that It was just some sort of demonic force that needs to
feed ever thirty years.
When I saw the big spider in the movie I kept thinking to myself "come on."
He was much more menacing as the evil clown.
Is It on dvd? I'm going to find my brother's copy of It and then check out
the movie.
Oh and if you want a good action horror novel look at Eaters of the Dead. I
just read that book for the fourth time. Based on a true story it is. *the
movie EOTD is based has been titled "The 13 Warrior."*
As for other good slashers that don't fall under the lines of your single
undead serial killer, what about Pet (S?)emetary? A melancholy but well
played story. ____________________

look at my beautifull man chest.
the 13th warrior was pretty good. I just find that I will never be able to
