OH, how I love Dovregubbens Hall... (that is "The Hall of the Mountain
King" in Norwegian)
I mean, sure, Norway's got a whole lot of kick-ass BM bands(mostly of the
kind that no-body's heard of..), but Grieg is probably my very favorite
among music from my own country.
Never made me kill anyone, though. Generally speaking, all the adorable
pop-princesses like Avril Lavigne make me want to commit suicide, but
that's another topic. |

When i first heard them about a year ago... to be honest i poked fun at
them. I saw ghost in the fog... and I was like "oh my god this is
hilarious"... however i noticed i was continuosly listening to them. After
that i decided that the only reason i would listen to them, as with any
music is because i really, really like it. I got a couple of their Cd's...
-they recently signed a contract with sony, and since that's a major label
some have accused them of selling out, which really pisses me off. Being on
a big label means that the CD's will cost less, and that they have more
resources at their disposal. I heard that they got to use a whole fucking
orchestra on this new CD, instead of synthesizing the other instruments. ____________________ "Be neither a master nor a slave to pudding, for there is a time to gather,

What I like about COF - apart from their music - is that they seem to be
the only black metal band that doesn't take itself too serious. I saw the
guys a few weeks ago live and they were absolutely great although the gig
was a little short. They definately made up for the crap their support band
Immolation played.
The music I listen to ranges from those "classic" goth bands like SoM,
Depeche Mode, Bauhaus, Joy Division, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Fields
Of The Nephilim to various gothic and black metal bands - Sentenced, Dimmu
Borgir, Borknagar, My Dying Bride, The 69 Eyes, Type O Negative, Umbra Et
Imago, Emperor, Tristania, In Extremo, Subway To Sally - and to a lot of
kinds of electronic stuff - :Wumpscut:, Grendel, Das Ich, Hocico, NIN,
Wolfsheim, Deine Lakaien, Welle: Erdball, Samsas Traum. And there are some
other artists/bands that quite often find their way to my CD player: Tori
Amos, Runrig and Leonard Cohen ____________________ "A cynic is a man who knows the price of everything and the value of

Aww, I liked Immolation! The gig was fun although Dani is prone to making
some crappy jokes. The first time I heard them was a couple of years ago
and I was in hysterics (although even then I thought, hmm, that guy is
sexy!)
CoF are a local band Dani frequently drinks at the restaurant my friend works at.
Another reason why I applied to work there this summer. ____________________ Let viagra bring the magic back. |

bothers me though how people are only a fan of music when its underground
and the moment it goes mainstream they are like this shit sucks.........I
mean if you were in a band and had the oppertunity to Buy in (not sell out)
You would cause you gotta and make money too...... I listen to a weird
mixture of music...Corpse, Slayer, Six feet under, Skinless, Nevermore,
Slipknot, King Diamond, Mortician, Morbid Angel, Otep, St.Diablo, Our lady
peace, Garth brooks (tee hee hee) The Ramones, The dead Kennedys, AFI, Joan
Baez ect. ect. Music is music to me if it sounds good I'll listen to it I
could really care less if they are popular or not.......cause you know its
just so not cool to listen to trendy bands *note the sarcasm* WHO GIVES A

It's cuz metal never dies.
I dont' like them enough to buy an album, but I might just for the ultra
douchebag cover art. Gotta love big boys that are SO into being SO fucking
metal....it slays me.
I did get free fries from an ULTRA metalhead waitress at dennys for wearing
a cowboy hat and sitting with my friend who was wearing THE MOST METAL
Mayhem hoodie ever. Metalheads know how to treat their peeps. Only in the
U.S. tho, I hear in norway they stab each other in the head till the other
person's head falls off. Is grishinak out of prison yet? I will say one
thing....Dimmu Borjoir kicks COF ASSHOLES OUT any goddamned day. ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

always seem to live up to their name! Listening to them is liking shitting

I've never heard Cradle of Filth. I guess I am in a bubble of the music I
already like. I don't go buy new cd's often, and I don't listen to the
rock radio stations, I listen to the classic rock stations and oldies. I
have a very ecclectic collection of music, ranging from Anti-Flag, to the
Casualties, Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks, and a Projekt compilation cd.
I like lots of stuff, but I still haven't heard CoF. Lots of people at my
old high school wore their shirts. ____________________ "People always say what we are looking for is a meaning for life…I don't

Am I aloud to be one of the few to say I can't stand them? I used to like
them ever so slightly but that was in my Korn and Angst days and most of
my friends like them but I'm more of a celtic/classic rock type of chick.
