My sister has moved back in and when that happens, she will constantly try
to control the tv. When I come home, when I leave, when I play a PC game,
MTV is always tuned on.
Now is the time of the VMA’s.
That’s right, 24 hours of the same freaking advertisements, hype, worthless
“artists” in their 15 seconds of fame and one hit wonders.
Now I ask you, what is your view of this side-show spectacle?
*if you haven´t seen already, i have grown sick of this vma bullshit since
the day the hype train started*
Since I´ve been without cable for the past 5 years or so I haven´t watched
mtv all that much, but when I do I find it all bullshit. Why come on here
and complain about it when you can just turn the tv off or move it into the
other room?
Or there´s also the resort of asking her to watch something else....
couldn´t hurt too much.

Having Sattelite, most that plays are repeats (of the previous shows). I
find it easiest to just get a good set of headphones, and lose yourself in
some good music. MTV has been on my "only watch if DRUNK off your ass"
list, especially since it has gone from music television, to rap
television.

Computers are located in the same room which are two tvs with cable.
Entertainment room indeed.
I posted here because I felt like seeing other people’s views about this.
*not about my sister or the tvs* heh, it is a bbs no?
MTV shows what´s popular and making money, sad as it is, rap is still
"what´s in."
Thank god it´s slowly dying.
That´s also why I don´t listen to radio unless it´s 94wysp or wmmr. *rock
stations*
When I´m driving, I have my cd player blasting.
I think that whole MTV-thing sucks, and seriously. :-( It makes me think
that nowadays popmusic doesn´t have any "soul" if you know what I mean.
Everything is same shit with different names...it´s just a commercial
cacophonic rubbish they play. And it doesn´t help that they have some
so-called specialprograms for rock, techno and other music types. They play
only what sells, and I can only pity those who buy it. :-(

Yeah, its pretty sad, how money affects so much of the music business. I
mean, I remember, probably 7 years ago, that MTV played -music- most of the
time. Now I watch it and its all strange hypey stuff... I don´t know what
got into them.
And wtf happened to Daria?!
Even on the radio... There´s one good modern rock station. But every now
and then they get into a 3-track mind... Only playing the trendy songs. I
cannot tell you how many times I have heard System. On my commutes to work,
most of the time I´m listening to classical music, because they´re fucking
around on the rock channel.
And people wonder why we get music over the internet... bah!

I have a TV on my desk next to me.
Often, I cannot have music on my computer because it really brings down the
fps rate on COunter-Strike, and, when you´re trying to blow away people
with large-caliber automatic weapons, having a high FPS counts. SO, I
channel surf in the down time. During the wee hours of the morning i have
accidentally stumbled on to a MTV program called Undressed. I have told
people about this show, and, in their own words, not mine, they have said,
"that show caught the gay."
While I do notice quite a bit of homosexual activity on this particular
show, I leave it behind as a topic when compared to the enourmous amounts
of bad music on MTV. Eminem can´t create music or beats to save his life,
most singers can´t play insutrments, immeadiately taking talent out of the
music and replacing it with pure drivel, and Brittney is still Brittney,
unfortunately winning fame over the coke-drinking anti-heroine Christina
Aguillera.
And teens watch this. People think angst-rock like Linkin Park has depth.
People think gangster rap has a message.
And people like Jimmy Fallon. I want to stab Jimmy Fallon.

Comedian and IronBoots, I am in complete agreement.
System has become over played and I bet the old fans are screaming "sell
out" right now.
Rap, don´t get me started on that.
Nu Metal, *sighs.* Atleast they play their own instruments...some of
them.
Pop, corporate cash whores.
CS has too many cheaters. Atleast it’s not nearly as bad as DOD.
I play FireArms but can never get my computer’s cd player to run while
playing the game. It mutes itself.
Ack, off topic.
MTV, like all other businesses, are in it for the money. VMAs are a waste
of time I can´t even watch five minutes of that garbage. *if you ask why i
do tune in, curiosity is my downfall*

"Oh look mindy is kissing MY boyfriend (who i met like 2 minutes ago)"
Fuck that. How anyone could think the lives of frat fuckers and their
lousy chickenheads/sorori-whores be that interesting... needs to.. hmmm...
i dont know...MAYBE be a little more creative?? get a brain?? Shoot
themselves and just get it over with???
And not just that boys and girls... the MUSIC on that channel is AWFUL.

metal. or *snort* hard rock.. or even pop.. its the same damn stuff.. OVER

I tried watching five minutes of that sorority life trite and it made me
want to shoot myself. It’s a trivial compilation of stereotypical,
narrowminded teenagers trying to make a living in a frat house filled with
nitwits.
Raprock, how could I forget THAT one.
Ahem...
Raprock, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *breaths* HAHAHAHAHA etc...
I did find one good show on MTV...tho the way I took it prolly wasn´t how
they meant it...meant it to be scary and I watch it for fun..it´s called
"fear" and they put a bunch of Gen X hipsters and granola kids in a
notoriously haunted location and spend three days and nights sending them
on "missions" and scaring the fuck out of them...and they get 3K each if
they "make it" all three nights.
I just got the biggest kick out of some skinny scenester LITERALLY crying
for his MOTHER whilst sitting in a drainage pit waiting for some monster
that haunted these mines in south america.
Face in the camera, snot, tears, puffy and red crying for MOMMY.
Fuck man sign me up. I´ll take 3Gs pretending to be scared on teevee.
Boogie boogie.

Fuck, its not like they can actually -do- anything to you on that show...
I´d just sit through the whole thing. The axe-wavers (or whatever else
´scary´ they have..) would probably get bored and join me for poker or
something... sheesh.
That´s what I find so strange about fear shows... its not like you´re in
any real danger, so why be afraid?

I watched Liquid television. I guess that counts for watching mtv.
i remember when mtv played music videos.
not the real slim shady. Or linkinpark/paparoach/limp biscuit (because they
are all the same group)
Or the Same Over used rap videos. which usually contain one guy featuring
five other rappers.. and not to forget that while the video proceeds you
have your HUGE group of gansters bouncing up and down and screeming at the
camera, thier ghetto Sluts shaking thier asses at said camera and more gold
teeth you can shake a stick at.
Hmmm im turning off the tv now. I feel angry watching this b.s.
*click* :-P

FEAR! That is one reason why I still tune to MTV. I love that show! I
nearly cried laughing at that guy who was in that pit. It was the one where
they were in Mexico. The last episode prior to it did have some good video
of paranormal activity. *i like to investigate haunted houses and such with
my friends, my home town has many haunted sites* I would love to get on
that show. $3000. I´m up for that.
Ironboosts, although rare, ghosts (mainly poltergeists) themselves can
actually physically harm you. (as well as mentally.)
My friend´s house is haunted by three ghosts, before he passed we would
hang out in his place nearly every week. I think everyone who was there had
a ghostly encounter. I know I have.
On another note, most rap videos paretically follow the same formula: have
the rapper (with hiz crew) stand before the camera and lip speak, have
hoochie mammas dance around nearly naked near or around the rappers “fly
ridez.”
I can’t really see why some females would find gold “grilz” attractive.
Yellow teeth are in all the sudden?
Abbadon, a good portion of us here pay for it, we can complain about it. I
don’t (i live at home), I pay for my car insurance, books, cloths, weights,
games and certain extras. Still, it’s on Comcast, it sucks, we’re in
America so we can complain all we want. *a American flag starts waving in
the wind behind me*
God bless America.
He he he...it´s not give me liberty or give me death anymore, it´s "give me
the right to bitch or I´ll eat your heart".
I pay for cable and MTV comes with it. I wish you could pick your
channels...I´d only pay for discover, history, comedy central, VH1 (gotta
have my pop up video and totally 80´s a-thons) and maybe one or two
others...and local channels, but that´s besides the point.
I hate rap as much as I hate rap vidoes, but man, DMX is one PISSED
mothafuka...and busta rhymes makes me giggle uncontrollably..I love that
guy.
TV is useless, but as addictive as the internet if you find the right
channel.

AloneSoul: By no danger, I meant that the show would not let any real
danger come to you. They wouldn´t put you in a house where they know that
you´re going to get hurt. It would look bad for them. (Even though you
agreed to it). But if some unexpected poltergeist comes up, I (or if I´m
dead, my family) recieves a well-cushioned bag of money. Probably hush
money, but its good either way.

I am a VH1 Pop Up Video Junkie.
I even have the board game, it´s sort of like a trivia pursuit that I have
a clue as to what the answers are.
Either way michael wipes the board with me...He´s like fucking
rainman...beats me at chess, beats me at checkers, beats me at trivia
pursuit, pop up video, pool, tetris and even when I´m NAUGHTY *snicker*
BUT he´ll never take my claim to pinball, race car games (if you wanna know
what it´s like to be a drunk driver, drink a couple pitchers then hop in
one of THOSE babies...I did..picked a HUM-V with a rocket launcher, the
german course, and destroyed everything in my path, which consequently of
the two pitchers of beer, was NOT the road.)
I´ve always liked VH1 more than MTV or MTV2...but they´re getting REALLY
good now with the william shatner "totally 80´s one hit wonders" and the
80´s movies...complete with red puffy leather jackets and fly boy hair and
names like candy, lance, killer, steph and stalin....
I fucking love the 80´s.
