I was at the video store and had the choice to rent either Ring or Ringu. I
chose Ringu, because I'd rather watch the original, and I like Japanese
movies... That movie scared the living high holy bejeebus out of me... I
had trouble walking toward the TV to turn it off afterward... had to turn
the lights on and everything... *shudder* had freaky dreams all night,
too. I really shouldn't watch scary movies... this was one of the most
freaky damn things I've seem for a long time... ____________________

I KNOW!!! I think I like the original better - it's been a while since I
saw it though - but I recently saw the remake at the cinema, and I was in a
constant state of near-heartattack for a really long time!!! FUCK I was
scared... ____________________ All stressed out and no one to choke...

The one part in that movie that really freaked me out (the new one... I
haven't seen the japanese one), is when they go "I saw her face" and then
BAM! they cut to the closet and the mangled dead body of that girl is in
there... normally you know when something is about to happen but, well, my
reflexs are slow I guess... ____________________ "Be neither a master nor a slave to pudding, for there is a time to gather,

Thank you so much for making my day when it comes to Ringu. In fact, as I
type these lines, I am in the middle of showing my friend the film. Som in
case you never hear from me again.. Well. Hah, that's so original of me,
huh? Anyway, Kat, didn't see if you answered me, but you are very welcome
to "verve" me into Shadowproject. |

Juhuuu! Altariel, I'm sending you a PM with my email adress, I've got the
form ready for you! Let's go geek *LOL*
An Nicholas - dammit yes, that was waaay to early for that kind of a shock
- that's part of why the movie was good for being a Hollywood remake, it
hits you in the stomach waaay before you're prepared for it
Allright, this is just for the record - Ringu IS better... ____________________ All stressed out and no one to choke...

Well for fans of the original "ring" ie: Ringu, then you'll be more than
happy to hear that another japanese horror movie "the curse" is being
remade in america by Sam Raimi...but here is the cool part. The director
of the original "the curse" is going to be working side by side with Raimi
(at Sam's behest) to keep the film true to it's japanese horror style.
Japanese horror is almost scarier, because it isn't OBVIOUS horror, it's a
subtle and highly effective mental game. I can't wait for it to come
out!
OH *LOL* My boss is a DJ and a friend of his wanted him to make him an
intro for a gig they were doing, and he used the background music from the
Ring and that little girl's voice that says over the pone "seven days". So
he spent all night at his computer in the dark with his headphones on,
mixing, remixing, editing and whatnot, and so he had that music and that
voice EMBEDDED in his head. He was finally done and got up and realised
that the house was dark and he was all of a sudden just freaked out like
crazy. He actually unplugged his phone and wouldn't look at the TV for two
days *AHAHAHAHA* I was laughing at him and he was like "no dude, you don't
UNDERSTAND. EVERY time I looked at my TV all I could hear was "ssssevvven
dayssssssssss" and that messed up kid it was FREAKY".
Then his friend came over and was like "I wanna hear it, put it on the big
speakers" and he was like 'No fucking way man, listen to it in the
headphones I've heard enough"
I got quite a kick out of that. ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

i really really liked Ringu more-over than The Ring. only because it was
made in 97 and i think they depicted it much better than a bunch of special
effects. The ending rawked so much better than new version too.
Must.. Watch..More... japanese horror flicks ____________________ "Thou shalt not be afraid of the dark, nor of graveyards nor ghosts nor the

I was watching 'Ring 0 - the Birthday' the other night and i found myself
to be greatly dissappointed...it made no seosne...it was meant to be a
prequel, but wasn't Sadako about 10 when she died? in this she was about
20. It was wrong...the sequel (the imaginatlily titled Ring 2) made more
sense...but i liked Ringu. a lot. |

Hmmm (once again) If I may hypothesize with out seeing Ringu perhaps>there
are two Sadakos, the one in Ringu might have been the mother to Sadako
(child) in the Ring. Dosen't The Ring movie say the the family adopted the
little girl from someone in China.

How much did The Ring differ from Ringu? I've only seen the new Hollywood
version. Thought it was quite cool - I liked how the different things made
sense in the end. You know what got me though? When the horse jumped off
the boat and you just saw blood come out from underneath it. Argh. This
coming from the girl who cried at Black Beauty, but anyway! ____________________ Do not fear death so much, but rather the inadequate life. |

Oh yeah - the Necronomicon - mentioned muchly earlier on. One of the guys I
know (and despise) claimed he went to a book shop and sat down and the book
jumped off the shelf and landed open in his lap at a page to summon a
demon. He was deadly serious. I laughed at him. ____________________ Do not fear death so much, but rather the inadequate life. |

Well, squid will swear it's the worst movie ever, but everyone I've talked
to said it was fantastic, the humor very dry and dark, and overall just
fucking great.
I will probably try to see it this weekend if I can, and I'll let you know. ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |
