I was Just wondering, Do you think more goths are hiding now than before?
Are they scared to be goth? I say that because I care about those people, I
understand that they aren't perfect people, and I miss the days where I
could dress up, or see other goths roaming around.
Also, I have a strange question. I don't have kids but I want to have one
someday. Is it wrong to impose your culture on to the child? After all
,other cultures do, such as Christians,Jocks, Rappers, country music,
ect...
I don't think goth is bad culture, after all it promotes tolerance,
nonviolence, freedom, Imagination, ect...
I haven't got a clue. I know I'm not in hiding, but then I don't consider
myself goth, either. My take on child-rearing is that you give the kid the
best of what you have, no matter what culture you consider yourself part
of, and then let them choose what they want to do.
I also don't see much of a point of making a culture of the goth thing.
People are people, no matter how they dress or what clubs they attend, and
every person promotes their own agenda. I've met plenty of jerks in black,
and plenty of decent people, too. When it comes down to it, it's just
clothes and decor. People give that way too much significance. I'd say,
wear whatever you like, treat other people decently whatever they're
wearing, and if someone doesn't like you for what you wear, you probably
wouldn't like them much, either. You probably have the most phoniness to
fear from members of your own culture, who might pretend to be your friend
just because you're dressed like them. That's why I like to shake things
up. Wear black one day and jeans and a t another and nice preppy clothes
another and maybe a cowboy hat the next. I don't want anyone to try to
befriend me just because I belong to a certain culture.

I think the goth culture is once again on the verge of evolving and being
called something else.
There will always be an art community, how it expresses itself is subject
to change every decade or so.

-----that sounds like good advice----
I also don't see much of a point of making a culture of the goth thing.
--Why not? I am curious----It always was a subculture, but I agree with the
other person,-meranda_jade it evolves, it changes names but the core of
whatever you want to call it is still there.

---True--
I've met plenty of jerks in black, and plenty of decent people, too.
--True--
When it comes down to it, it's just clothes and decor.
--Not true for me, i wear colors sometimes but I think's more to me than
the average goth, I guess it means more to me because Some goths back in
the 90s cared enough about me and encouraged me to keep going to school and
so I have graduated, if it wasn't for them, I am not sure where i'd be., i
know that might not mean anything to you, but it does to me---
People give that way too much significance
--Perhaps they do---
. I'd say, wear whatever you like, treat other people decently whatever

-True, 99 percent of friends are nongoth, I like people for who they are,
but goth will always be in my heart.
. You probably have the most phoniness to fear from members of your own
culture
-I do?---I haven't met any goths besides me, but so what, it doesn't matter
to me, I'd be their friend anyway cause that is my weakness.
, who might pretend to be your friend just because you're dressed like
them.
--could happen,--

---I am glad you like to shake up things, but you shouldn't deny someone
who wants to befriend you,right?
As My grandma use to say, I don't want a useless vague something, i want
something stronger Something I can grasp beside imaginary potatoes...,
P.s. forgive me, I am not smartest crayon in the box
I think it good to question things, so everything can be understood, Don't
try to win the arguement I tell myself, , I must try to learn something
and I am quite stubborn.
