So I didn't know where else to post it so I'll post it here.
I'm sure most of you have heard of a man named Aleister Crowley. He was an
influential man in the `WitchCraft` Community per sae.
At any rate Dec.1st will mark 59 years since his death and a good friend of
mine who owns a shop here in downtown Richmond that sells oddities and
Pagan Supplies and glass pipes and the sort swears that he has let the
spirit of Mr. Crowley into him again.
I do not doubt this in the list bit. Stranger things have happened. Anywho
On friday he is having a radio show of sorts and I will post the bullentin
here:
On December 1st, this friday, from 7-9 pm we will be conducting a seance in
honor of Aleister Crowley. We will be attempting to communicate with his
spirit with a ritual he himself wrote for this very purpose.
The local new rock station 102.1 the X, will be in attendance.
Curiosity seekers and skeptics please do not attend. We will not tolerate
any bullshit at this event. There is always risk involved when dealing with
the spirit world, so come at your own risk and of your own free will.
We will have a psychic tea available, along with Ouija and Tarot. There
will be a donation jar available to help Curio defray the cost of tea,
incense, booze, and etc. The suggested donation is $5 but none will be
turned away if they can not donate. We won't guilt trip you like the
catholics either... hehehe

Veau... and cleopatra... ever notice that no one was ever... bob, the
brik layer from brooklyn new york... or frank, the settelr from salt
lake?

Actually Aliester Crowley was a real person....Though his Christian name
was Edward Alexander Crowley....he later changed it. He wrote over 35 books
and was influential in many modern day pagan religion.
And its not like my friend (the shop owner) claimed to be him in a past
life. What we are going to be doing tomorrow in some light will be semi
serious- while its mostly to put on a show for the radio station and have
some good old fun with the spooks. ____________________

My point was... no one ever claims to channel someone that isn't
famous...
On saint John's eve... the biggest voudoun celebration of the year... ten
thousand bokor will claim to channel teh spirit of ML... all at teh same
time... I beleive he may believe it... but I do not believe that a spirit
is actually possessing him... the power of belief is an amazing
thing...
it's just with my studies, experience, mathematics and personal theories of
existence... I don't buy it...I would have to see an eeg with a drastically
different alpha, beta and gamma channel before I would believe that anyone
was channelling a spirit ____________________

pont taken, and I completely understand. I myself do believe in
communicating with the spirits....Most seances are a hoax to begin with as
will this one I'm sure but I don't doubt that I will bring in some kind of
energy...and if not Crowley himself I'm sure some other spirit is walking
about....The owner of the building had a heart attack and died in the
building the other day. Kinda creepy.
For the most part however this is all in good fun with underlying tones of
some sort of seriousness. I don't want to mess around too much with stuff. ____________________

I have seen too much, and experienced EVP for myself... as such...I KNOW
there is more out there...and I believe that there are spirits...

oh man.
Okay, on a more serious note, I remember being a teenager and having my own
amount of good fun "channeling" the spirit, mostly as a way to sneak of my
parents place and fool around with girls. But you know, whatever floats
your boat.
Keep in mind however that A.C. is about as popular for channeling as J.C.
and trust me good ole Al would be laughing his balls blue if he read your
post as well.
You asked for opinions. My opinion first, it's silly, second, it's foolish,
and finally, it's all good fun so enjoy yourself and just take it as it's
meant to be taken, silliness for the sake of self aggrandizement and not
much more.

First off I'm not a teenager and I do thank you for your opinion. As I
stated its mostly a hoax or at least on my end...but messing with the
paranormal isn't a laughing matter so I'm keeping everything to a minimal.
Its free advertising and booze so why not drink to A.C. and have a little
fun with it.
A.C. Actually wrote however a ritual to bring back his spirit as well. This
isn't anything I didn't do my research on or something that I jumped into
foolishly. Stranger things have happened and whether or not you choose to
believe in contacting the dead..well thats you.
But I respect your opinion and will take what you had to say as an adult. ____________________
