anya with that agenda you count firmly as a moderate democrat. i WOULD go
as far as saying liberal democrat. its just something for you to think
about.
what you have said and the way you said it is the same as the middle of the
road democrats.
you would have to want states right, a theocracy, flat tax, EPA
empowerment, or something "radical" to be a rightwinger. ____________________ Real goths wear silver and crosses to keep the werewolves and vampires

i've been doing a lot of thinking about politics lately...largely through
far too much arguing with my dad, but that's another story. neither of the
current american political parties appeal to me, and i'm not sure whether
keeping a strong military or homosexual rights will win out as being more
important to me next november.
to fix this, i propose a third party! we already have donkeys and
elephants, so the new party shall be known as the cute fluffy kittens. when
we take power, we'll get rid of unecessary programs and their associated
taxes, we will keep a strong military (but not use it for stupid things),
and we will really, honestly abide by the idea of all being created equal.
now all we need is a candidate... |

Actually, you'd be surprised where I lay as far as Republican and Democrats
go. I had more marks on the Republican list than the Democrats, but I
suppose there's a reason why I'm a 4 on the 1-5 scale instead of a 5 or 1
(Dem-Rep). I think there's problems with the extremes of both parties,
though, is why I'm more moderate. With Radical Republicans, you have all
the people trying to force a theocracy plus Darwinism on us then with the
Radical Democrats, you have your Anti-War pure Socialists who would spend
more on Social Programs.
You're right though, I'm far from a die-hard right-winger. There's
actually a decent amount of Republicans who are socially moderate like me,
though. Take a look at the Log Cabin Republicans (http://www.lcr.org).
There's your Gay Republican Network.
As far as prayer in school goes, I don't think anyone should lead a prayer
or anything, but I don't think one minute of just pure silence, even for
the sake of reflection, would be a bad idea. It'll allow people to pray to
whatever God or religious figure that they want.
What really amuses me is that Republicans are normally for laissez faire,
family values, Capitalism, inclusion, and morality...unfortunately, the
die-hard radical's want for a theocracy ruins that message, lmao.

That's the site I was looking for! Thanks Callei.
1) Republican Party 75%
2) Constitution Party 75%
3) Libertarian Party 63%
4) Natural Law Party 44%
5) Democratic Party 38%
6) Reform Party 31%
7) Green Party 19%
There's where I stand it seems, according to this test.

The results make a lot of sense, though. I've got a few Libertarian
values. I'm a little big on laissez faire (at least when it comes to
private property and economics) so that's probably how I got a good score
on both Rep and Lib.

I re-did the quiz with a bit more thought on the issues. Not much of a
change, but I see a nice balance between Libertarian and Republican.
1) Libertarian Party 79%
2) Republican Party 79%
3) Constitution Party 79%
4) Democratic Party 43%
5) Reform Party 43%
6) Natural Law Party 36%
7) Green Party 21% |

There's a quiz I found that was interesting.
According to your answers, your political philosophy is on the border of
right-conservative and libertarian.
Your Personal Self-Government Score is 50%.
Your Economic Self-Government Score is 100%.

Heh, you know, I used to think that Libertarians and Democrats were in the
exact same boat, but after taking these quizzes and doing research, I'm
finding out how different Libertarians are from the donkey and the
elephant. Seems we both are similar social-wise and a bit different in
other policies.
