Fear me. I am the enemy of the Church. *CACKLE* I shall dispel their
cheap herding (le pun). Then I will create a new Order, an order that
allows people to run across the pews with or without clothing. *nods to

Satanists (ie "Church od Satan," "Temple of Set," etc. etc.) may or may not
believe in the Devil but Devil Worsipers (ie "Xians in reverse") certainly
DO believe in the Devil.
I have to agree with yoo that Xianity is FAR too into admitting that Jehova
is the only real God but at the same time I LOVE ridiculing Xian idiocy
(note I said "Xian idiocy" and not "Xianity") ____________________

Where the Bibble thumpers get it wrong is that Satanists dont believe that
thier god exisits at all, and that goths are demon possessed. Since they
believe that there is only one god and that it only works one way, they can
only think of people in terms of thier own contextual outlook.
To make a silly example: imagine a school teacher watching the kids at
play. she sees a group of kids running around in a circle and how she
processes that image is to think "oh the kids are playing tag, how cute."
while in the kids minds, what they are doing is running away from a bumble
bee that landed in thier secret snack food. they are trying to scare the
bee off and stay out of its way, not play tag. chances are the techer will
never ask the kids what they were doing and will stay ignorant of what
thier world view is. and they will be ignorant of hers.
i see this as how most branches of the protestant faith work. I dont
include the catholics, Islamics, or Jewish in this for various reasons,
mostly because those faith groups dont depend on a
solo-individual-"enlightenment" basis and allow for a larger world view
than protestantism does. ____________________ Real goths wear silver and crosses to keep the werewolves and vampires

Even though I got "you are a nothing", I always thought of myself as a
Christain. Then again I guess I really don't care either way. I'd just
rather live by my own "code", then to be preached at.
Mormons? I don't know anything about that religion except for my cousin
thinks they made it up. So i'm not gonna talk about that one until I find
some info on it myself. |

To be fair to Mormons, I do not remember the ones that I have worked with
and known in social situations attempting to forcibly impress their beliefs
on me. In fact, I've had some decent religious discussions with some
Mormons that I've been friends with. I do, however, give the door-to-door
variety a hard time. Also, to be fair to other door-to-door prosteletizers,
I pretty much equally give them the same hard time. ____________________ "When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've never

Callei, you make very good points, as always. And no, I don't think you
should have to be nice to anyone based on what they do or don't believe. I
don't expect people to like me because of my faith. Hell, I'm more likely
to get flamed for it.
I'm not even sure that I qualify as a genuine "Christian," since I don't
adhere to any denomination. I just have my own personal belief. That's
all.
What people do or don't believe is their business. I just happen to like
learning about other people's belief systems, and how they cope when stuff
happens. My personal thing is that people have a right to believe whatever
they want, and I, believing as I do, need to respect those beliefs.
In turn, I need to extend that to the denominations of Christianity that
really piss me off.
As for Mormons, I think they're really onto something. 90% of the Mormons
I have encountered are very intelligent, civil, well-mannered, and
thoughtful people. They tend to keep to themselves, but they respect a
person's rights to believe as they wish, which is a very cool thing. But
that could jsut be how the Missouri mormons act. *shrugs*

LC i didnt mean to be harsh there, but really there are lots of different
branches of that religion and some consider other branchs to be misgiuded,
some deranged, and some led by the anti-christ. most of them say that all
you need to be a Christian is to believe that a) Christ died for your sins
b) that Christ is your savior or c) that the bible is the whole truth.
(these seem to be the three main branchs to me at least)
they dont "believe" the same things, have the same moral codes, or really
have much in common other than calling thier god "GOD", and thier holy
texts "bible". they dont use the same bible, (there are some 600 versions
of the bible in print in English alone) and they dont believe that other
branches are the same as themselves, Christian.
The point i was trying to make at first is that the Christian faith group
is one of the loudest, but not one of the biggest in the world. it is one
of the most violent and cruel both to its followers and everyone else. Im
tired of people trying to frame the world thru the eyes of some (relativly)
tiny cult and trying to shade perception of others to make it seem larger
and more importnat that it really is.
If you faith says that you have to forgive those that abused you, then yah
try to find forgiveness for the southern baptists that wronged you. dont
make excuses for them, or anyone else. If your faith says resiste them at
every turn, then have at!
Just please dont make some whiny plea that i have to be nice to you (or
anyone else) jsut because someone they think existed a long time ago got
nailed to some wood for pissing off the powers that were. ____________________ Real goths wear silver and crosses to keep the werewolves and

Callei, I was raised in the SBC...they are about the most ignorant and
hateful people I've ever encountered. I guess that makes mea hypocrite for
being angry about intoelrant sects of Christianity ruining it for the
tolerant ones. *shrug*
I think it's sad that people talk about how Christ is supposed to bring joy
and unity to all peoples...then they go out and attack people for not
believing what they do.
I'll work to overcome my own prejudices. Sorry.

I got "you are a nothing" which means I could care less whether or not
there's a god. It said I'm the worst christian offender because everyone
else has the possibility of being converted, where as I'm completley
untouchable.
So am i going to hell or something? |
