Well, since this post has come back to life and I didn't notice it the
first time, I guess I will join in.

I'm Rayce. Pronounced (Ray*C), not Race. (Bet a bunch of you were saying it
wrong hehe). I'm a 30 year old single mother who lives near Seattle. Devin
turned me onto the site after moving to Washington and chatting with me
about photography on MSN while I was bored to death working at
Microsoft.
I used to be a really social person who went out every weekend. I'm a
photographer and used to actually do 2-5 shoots a week! Now I just sit home
with the kiddo and enjoy her spaztic personality. I only do shoots once a
month now if I'm lucky. I work at a company where I bounce between being a
tech support rep and writing troubleshooting guides for major cell phone
companies and their data phones. Basically I am either on the phones fixing
stuff for people, or off the phones breaking stuff for people so I can show
people how to fix it.
Turn ons: Pain.. yep.. Pain. And not self induced pain but pain given in a
Safe, Sane and Concensual situation. I like photography (obviously),
paranormal study, history, reading books, writing books, going to
interesting places and meeting insteresting people. I love candles and
light my apartment with them at night instead of lamps.
Turn offs: People who attempt to debate with me on subjects they know
little about. People who are shitty just to be shitty. People who judge me
by my cover or clothes. People who little girl who knows nothing just
because I don't act 30. People who tell me how to raise my daughter. People
who steal from me. People who lie to me. Elevators (I hate elevators) and
people who can't drive! And my big turn off is people who think they have
nothing at all to learn or think they are smarter than I am because they
have more knowledge in a single subject than I do. ____________________

ok why not. hi i am ruth and i am customizing my introduction format. I may
be cancer but that really has little to do with anything else. i love way
to much music to have a theme though i am really liking funeral march by
chopin right now. it is very pretty when you get going and are playing it
right and stuff... chopin has some very difficult chords in his songs. so
as you can guess i play piano. also i play flute and guitar/bass and
trombone. about six notes on clarinet and this year i will be trying barry
sax. it sounds good. I am a total computer geek, an information horder, and
a forum whore, technology is awesome and yes, i do geekspeak, aka leet.
though i have the tact to do it in more appropriate situations and places
than on shmeng. i have read about lots of different psychological type
things. taken psych11 in school. and plan to pursue psychology further. it
is really interesting. people are, i people watch all the time. even
online, i can see you, all of you. lots of other stuff too, but this is
long enough already.
also one more thing i think is relatively important is that i am not
looking to get laid. imagine that.

Hello to all,
I am Emily, age 14 shall be 15 in September, that makes me a virgo. I live
in Kansas, USA. I've been on here three days, finally found this thread
today. In my spare time you can find me reading, writing poetry, and/or on
the computer. I play violin and am in my junior high's honor choir. Singing
is one of the things I plan on continuing throughout my life. I don't limit
myself to only certain genres of music if there is a band that I hear and
their music is good and lyrics meaningful and well written then I'll listen
to them. Oh, yes, I have blue eyes, my hair I dyed black but since has
faded and is a mixture of dark brown, light brown, and tints of red. ____________________

i'm 20 years old (sagittarius) and i have a weird sense of humor. i've also
been told i'm oblivious to the world. i guess that's why i ask a lot of
questions. i start college in the fall at a school in my home state of
North Carolina...although i do hope to transfer to a different school
later, one that's far from here. (i think i'm the only shmeng head in North
Carolina>) i think like a pessimist, but act like an optimist.
likes: I love comix, so i collect alot of them. i'm also a bit of a scifi
dork. (well actually an all around dork) I love to draw although i've been
blocked for quite a while now....inspiration: can't find any. very smart
and funny women. I like people who are playful. really, i'm interested in
just about everything that this world has to offer, and i love this
website. i also like all of the people that i've managed to talk to here.
(i'd make a list of them and why they're so cool, but i think i would get
in trouble)
dislikes: racism in all its many forms, doing anything for the wrong
reasons, artists' block, people who don't have a sense of humor and/or take
themselves too seriously and my own conscience. ____________________

Wow, this is really hard to find just one song to play while I introduce
myself because my music taste is very ecclectic, but I know one song that
can be fun.

Hiya, my name is Amanda, I have been hanging around shmeng for almost two
years now. I didn't join shmeng under this name until a few months later
into the start of these two years. I tried to submit a picture of myself,
when Devin told me that was a no-no unless I proved it was myself. Well, I
did, and so here I am. I really love this family of shmengians (or
whatever you want to call everyone here). I don't like when people try to
ruin everything we have here. I do my best to be kind and open minded with
everyone. I have grown up in a very tiny town in Florida, and I cannot
stand life here. When I first came to shmeng I thought I was a straight
Christian girl who couldn't be anything different, but through the help of
people here I discovered that I could be who I want to be. I don't have to
conform to make people like me here, when I already know they didn't when I
tried to. So, here I am now, a bisexual female who doesn't have the same
faith beliefs everyone in this town wants me to have, and a whole new
outlook on how life should be lived. I don't think I should just have to
be with one person for the rest of my life, I feel that I can love more
than that and be happy with more than one person. I am also getting out of
this town in a month, so I will be very happy with better people.
Well, now that I have spilled a ton of stuff (I could go on for a while
still), I will free you and just tell you my likes and dislikes to follow
introduction tradition:
Likes: I like wearing feitish clothes, looking at girls in hot fetish
clothes, goth babes, chocolate, ice cream (though I can't have it), coffee
(though I should not have it), chai tea, reading, watching comedy movies
(one of my favorites is Office Space and another recent one is Orgasmo),
surfing the net, talking to people online, flirting with pretty and
intelligent girls, sex, showering (it makes me feel really clean, like I am
washing away the world's ickies), good vibed people, snuggling to sleep or
just plain snuggling, petting and being petted, SHMENG (the site, not the
real stuff)
Dislikes: mushrooms (unless stuffed), olives (never ever yicky), excrement
porn, thinking about my parents fucking, girls who say they like girls but
just say that for attention, homophobic people, closed minded people,
people with disgusting vibes who feel that they get to fling it at you for
no good reason, SHMENG (the real stuff, not the site)
I am a Saggitarius, and I can't remember my other signs...I was born in
1985 if anyone wants to tell me my chinese sign.
I hope this tells you a bit about me, talk to me if you want to know more,
and I just might tell you

Anyway, my name's Rebecca, but people usually call me Becca or Bec. I'm
going through the dissolution of my training marriage (read: divorce), and
I'm almost to the point where I don't trust anything with a penis, but I
have hopes that that will pass, in due time. I'm a Sagittarius with
Scorpio rising and a Leo Moon, which means that I'm brutally honest about
my obsessions with life, death, and the stage. =p For all of those that
follow Chinese Astrology (which is more accurate, in my opinion), I'm an
Earth Sheep.
I live a city in Norteast Missouri that is home to a medical school and an
overrated university. I work at hte local hospital as an aministrative
assistant on the floor, which means I get to do all of the fun paperwork
and answer the phone. Some people mistake me for a nurse, but that's fine,
since I can probably direct them to the proper nurse in record time.
The older townies and the university kids are usually at war, while the
med students, professors, and the rest of us just try to get through the
day. I live alone with Sisko, cat and professional attention whore. Sisko
claim to fame is his ability to jump on the keyboard while I'm talking to
someone and hitting the esc key, which closes the chat window. It's hard
to stay mad at him, though, becuase he's so cute and sweet without being
clingy all of the time.
Moving on.
Now for the Miss December portion of the introduction:
Likes: cats, art, music, theatre, writing, reading, painting (usually in
watercolor), drawing (anything and everything), Mike's Hard Cranberry
Lemonade, Diet Dr. Pepper, springtime, clover blossoms, roses, violets,
pretty much every other friggin' flower, surfing the net, people with
common sense, maturity, people who have their own thoughts and opinions,
hot fudge sundaes with nuts, dream interpretation, astronomy, astrology,
long-haired guys, women with intense inner beauty, good poetry, purple,
silver, black, playing on the webcam,sesame oil massages, sex, chocolate,
etc
Dislikes: people who think the world owes them by virtue of their
existence, cockroaches, spam, politicians, lawyers, mold, people who leech
off of other people until they are almost dead inside, cat-haters, pork,
people who are cruel to people with special needs, people who hide behind a
"disabled" label to get out of working (not everyone does it, but I've seen
a few), doctors, self-righteous RNs, CNAs with attitude problems, junkies
who come to the ER for free narcotics, etc

hello all,
i am ariadne the jack ass. please understand
that i know this and am ready to move on. sorry the first impression i set
was not the one i wanted to present to everyone. i was tired and i was
just babbling. i guess i was remembering everything in my stupor and i was
possessed by the devil. i am not "gother than thou" i only play dress up
when i go out. why? because i am an adult with kids. my interests center on
music. i feel no need to brag about anything. the perception is that is
what i was doing in the first intro. the second intro set everyone on fire.
please know that i let devin know i was just teasing. there is no need for
any of you to become defensive.
by the way i am not a mansonite, i actually despise him. my first intro
i mentioned him , i said he was an ok "HUMAN" i was referencing to the
hype surrounding him which i find really bogus.
all this aside ,this is my last apology. i do not see the need to
explain anything further. i would like to get past all of this . if anyone
will forgive me enough to allow me to do so.
i have so many interests . goth is just fun to me, nothing else.i love
music. i love to paint. it is the only time i feel calm. i have strong
interests in religion, i am interested in the old religion of europe along
with buddhism and hinduism. i enjoy practicing yoga, it is great medicine.
i have no problem admitting my faults. i am sorry if i offended
everyone. i know i was a jack ass so please let's move on to better things. ____________________

Ariadne, it seems you have fallen victim to the horrible fate of being
misunderstood that plagues all those who attempt tongue-in-cheek on the
internet. Face to face, one's expression, or tone of voice will give the
clue that what one is saying is not to be taken seriously, but online, it
is a little more tricky. It helps to put some sort of clarifying statement
in a post to alert readers as to your intent, unless you are very well
known, in which case people will figure it out, maybe, if you're lucky.
Reading over your first post, I can see how it could be taken two ways. I
see a sort of qualifying statement, but not a very clear one, and it could
still easily be interpreted as mindless bragging for the intent to impress
the masses. If this had been your intent, then Devin's response would be
right on target as a counter to your post.
Perhaps you would have done better to first see how you inadvertantly came
across as a show-off, and made clarification, rather than getting angry and
making statements that only sound silly to those who know Devin. If you
communicate yourself as other than you really are, you have only yourself
to blame when people get the wrong impression.
Oh, and about the goth site thing, we are and we aren't. We have many goth
members, and many goth topics. You might say, we are goth-friendly. Well,
maybe not, because just because someone is goth doesn't mean that we're
going to be buddy-buddies with them. Let's just say, intelligent
goth-friendly. But it's not our intention (or rather, Devin's) to be goth,
the whole goth, and nothing but the goth. Thus deflecting the whining
protests of those who want to say "you're not goth, you're just a buch of
poooooooosers!!! We're not trying to be goth, we're just talking about
what interests us, and if it happens to be goth (like it often does) then
so be it. ____________________

if this is not a goth site i have made a mistake. i was referred through
another goth site. i was under the impression that this was a place for
goths to chat,etc because there are so many gothic topics. there is no need
for offense. i am not here to stir up anything. i thought it would be cool
to chat w/ others since i just moved to bfe alabama, and i am in hell, that
is all. my last intro was misunderstood, i really was just joking. that is
why i posted another intro. i know my first one sounds like i was just
bragging but that wasn't my intention. i really was hoping to start a
conversation about music . i am not the all knowing pompous ass that i have

i guess you misinterpreted my intentions here. rudeness is so
unbecoming. i was only trying to start conversation since i am new to this
site. ............let me start again
ok here is some info about me. i spend a lot of time painting ,
practicing yoga and being often misunderstood. i have varying tastes in
music, there are so many different goth styles to choose from, right now i
have been listening to xymox and blutengel quite a bit, for it suites my
mood at this time.
i love music pre-raphaelite art. i have been a pagan for a while, years ,in
fact. music is my life. i come from a family of musicians. one of my
favorite authors is kahlil gibran.blah blah blah.
i am currently living in bfe alabama and i am stuck here until my hubby
gets transferred to germany. i am really looking forward to that.
what do i hate, people without a clue, lacking all understanding. i despise
insensitivity and lack of restraint of emotions. what else??hmm, there is
probably more but since i just woke up i couldn't say right now.
what do i paint? i paint abstract compositions with much occult
symbolism. i paint the gods, fairies, and sometimes angels.
i still would like all of you to check out "void stares back" i provided
a link in my first intro that obviously bombed. because someone here

| hello, i am 31, a mom, and have been in the goth scene since circa 1985. of
course along the way i have been to many shows. i had the pleasure of
seeing rozz williams perform with shadow project and i ,of course, had to
hug him and get his autograph. i have seen nin so many times since i was in
high school. i saw christian death twice, valor's christian death anyhow, i
have his autograph too, although i really love rozz. i was really
disappointed when rozz took his own life. um, i had an interesting
conversation with thomas thorn after the electric hellfire club opened for
christian death. he was a rather nice guy. i went out on one date with
jason miller from godhead( we used to be in the same washington dc club
scene.)i met sara ,the old drummer for marilyn manson at the famous roxy in
dc. i went backstage and saw marilyn manson in person. i hung out with sara
after the show,met marilyn manson officially. he was an ok human. i am
still not much of a fan though. why am i spouting all of this shit? i am
hoping this may strike up some conversation really. my sister is in a band
called "void stares back" (dark wave) i hope you all check them out. go to
norvagoth.net and check out the local bands section and it will take you to

Hmm...what to put.

I'm Anya...you can call me Chris if you want though. Seventeen, going for
eighteen in March.
I'm 5'7 and weigh a bit over 150 lb, more muscle than fat. Dark brown hair
and dark brown eyes.
My Sun signs on the horoscope are the Tiger and Aries, Moon is Libra, my
Ascendant is a Virgo. Seems fitting, though a lot of my Sun is kind of
fading out.
I'm still tending school, of course. Likely going to major in Art or
Psychology when I hit college next year. I'll probably major in both, who
knows. It'll be a lot more work though.
Turn ons: intellectual conversations, people who can think for themself,
different aspects of a situation.
Turn offs: control freaks, bigotry, and hypocrisy.
Hobbies: Reading, the internet, drawing, HTML, role-playing, and "truth
seeking."

hey agian. might as well start from the beginning.
my name is diane, i was originally named morgan but i hated it so now its
changed. i don't eat meat, i don't believe in god, i like girls better than
guys (sexually) im one half scandinavian, one fourth italian, and one forth
english. i don't like large groups of people, i don't like most people in
general actually. but you guys seem fine so i guess its ok. i've been
coming here for a while but i havn't made any posts (that i can remember).
i love good music, dark cloudless nights, rain, cats, big dark rooms, and
for some reason, my favorite movie is the Lion King. i play the flute and i
speak a little bit of french. i write poor poetry. i don't like
lighthouses.
i don't like people who smoke or drink or have sex (with themselves or
eachother) at childrens playgrounds. i like swings and slides. and stars. i
like a lot of things starting with "s". its a very good letter if you ask
me. (the worst letter is "p"... its the start of a lot of words i don't
like.. posers preps people...) my favorite foods are pasta and fruit
salad. i don't like people who gossip, or who talk about themselves in
third person. i hate useing the word "like" or "omigod" too much (or at all
really).
im about 5'6" with brown eyes and black hair. i have a "beauty mark" under
my right eye and i'm right handed. i have no pericings or tattoos as i'm
afriad of needles and the like (scared to death to be honest) ____________________

Hello!
Well... my name is Fiona, I'm 18 and I live in Brisbane, Australia (not
exactly the most forgiving climate for one who wears black all the damn
time, oh well). I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Nothing in Particular,
majoring in Wasting Time. Uuhh... what else... I have 3 cats; Joyce, Vyvyan
and Mildred... ah fuck it... I'll just do the old 'likes/dislikes'.
Likes: getting dressed up in my most wonderfully fancy clothes; "Black
Books"; "The Young Ones"; those moments where you just come up with the
most brilliant, witty retort; brilliant, oldschool 80s music... can't think
of any more.
Dislikes: not being able to dance at all; being short; people telling me
that I'm short as if it's something I had failed to notice; people who
cannot walk in a staright line (you know, those bastards that meander all
over the bloody place as if they're wandering around some picturesque
country pathway); the rich bastards at uni; people who flatter themselves;
and horrible, selfish arseholes.
