What's really being pissing me off recentlly is now that the norm has gone
from preps to emo punks and wiggers. People are starting to hate preps
because everyone else does and are now following the latest trend. It's
bands like "Simple Plan", "New found Glory"
"Not by choice" Who we have to blame....and of course the ever popular
Avril Laugvine. They are an abomination to the name "Punk", they go against
everything punks stand for and their lyrics sounds the same.."Oh poor me,
my life is hell." FOR GOD'S SAKE WHY CAN'T THEY ISTEN TO SOME FUCKING GOOD
MUSIC???!! I'm not a punk myself, nor do I define myself as "gothic" yet I
wear black etc. It's just annoying the hell out of me. Fucking
trendies....they can all take their pop emo punk shit and shove it up their
asses. They aren't different, they're just fucking idiots. I think I'm just
going to go and bang my head against a wall casstet:...DOH! |

Its the same in my town too over here in England, as well as many others.
Fashions change, and the majority follows. At least you can take comfort in
knowing that in a couple of seasons time, it will change again, and then so
will the people you look down on. In the meantime, make the most of
laughing at others and being able to say you have a good reason to! Besides, it
means there's a chance of finding more semi - decent clothing around.
You've got to look on the bright side

Just to throw a bit of random history about here, originally the "preps" or
"preppies" were Prep school kids, as going to prep school to 'prep'are them
for yale or harvard or oxford. They were the sell-outs, they represented
the diametrically opposed view from that of the punks which was rebellion
against the system.
Now Emo, as far as i can tell is the movement that sprung up from people
tired of saying "Yeah, I'm kinda gothic-Mod" which is really sad
considering the whole mod bit was just a well dressed synthesis of Punk and
Goth, or so they said. Goth's origins in punk aside they may be right, it's
all a personal choice anyway. But to wrap up my original statement, all of
these sub/counter-cultures spring from Punk, which hated the Prep's more
than it hated any of it's sibling/child/peer cultures and with good reason
in terms of politics. So if you are surrounding yourself with only the
couter-culture, and you are listening to the bands who were spawned by the
bands who listened to...well, basically Siouxsie, the Ramones, and a few
others. Then you are going to hear the party line.
It's not new to hate that which your leaders hate. It's not even new to
hate that which everyone else thinks is cool. Unless you have the mental
and emotional capacity to reason and look at the facts for yourself, you
will be a sheep led by whatever leader or movement you choose to follow.
In the case of hating the newest-latest-coolest, it's not an original
thought, it's especially unoriginal if you decide to hate 'it' and then
find your rationalization. In the case of the Punks and the Preps, it was
"we hate their politics" and "but I have never met one of them (of
preferred gender) that I wouldn't sleep with" remember that when you try to
hate individually. Remember that unlike the racist movement that hates
individuals because of their origins, our progenitors and we the new
generations should strive to hate a movement but know the people. There is
no way we will like or hate all of them, but it's all about the individual
when it comes to dealing with reality. ____________________ It is only through the lack of sex that humanity derives the need for an

You got a point, but the thing is if you keep pointing out what is
unoriginal, then that as well is unoriginal. Nothing in our world is
original, the people that say they are original are the most unoriginal
because they are denying what is the truth. Humans copy what they see
around them and contribute it to their lifestyle, it's just they way we
are. But people who want to follow society's little backwards ways are just
sickening. GAH! |

alright?
Anyway... I'm just pissed about the guys who think they're 'all that',
irreguardless of their chosen lifestyle. I suppose excessive pride is my
pet peeve, then. Along with all those others...
Oui...
But yeah. Like Abbadon said... Just put on some music and forget about the

You know what? Music defines the aspects of life as seen by one or two
people. The trends with music start when other people relate to that
feeling. It's not necessarily everyones view point and thats why music, in
its own, is beautiful. It is an embodiment of diversity.
As for the punks and goths and preps and all the other social groups or
labels out there, its all just a state of mind. YOU are what you feel you
are and fuck what anyone else thinks about it, as far as Im concerned, its
none of their goddamn business how I think of myself or what I would want
to be called. Clothing does not define who a person is, their mentality
towards life does. Cloths are just that, cloths. They aren't your mind, you
skin, your thoughts, they're sewn together cotton, or whatever it happens
to be mde of, that keeps us from running around completely naked. I don't
see what the big deal is.
Narrow
mindedness is a bitch. ____________________ In my eyes, to be human is not to be able to live and die, but it is to

Why do you care? They aren't you.
Do they try and force their lifestyle upon you, or are they just existing?
And by screaming at them to "listen to some fucking good music" are you
letting them exist, or are you forcing your lifestyle upon them? And unless
they asked specifically for your opinion on their music, do you have a rght
to criticise it?
And I have yet to hear a person whom you have described label his/herself
as "different." The ones that I have known label themselves as "people."
And EVERYONE listens to music that pleases them: that is what it is for.
Yes, there are messages, but there would be no distribution if people did
not find it pleasing in some way. And unless it DIRECTLY AFFTECTS YOU ie
causes you physical or emotional harm, what right do you have to take it
away from them? ____________________ "Truth is always on the move. It is always somewhere, but never in the

First of all i have to say, that emo is not punk. Emo is basically music
made for teenagers.. Just your typical whiney highschool bullshit.
Emo is far from being punk rock music. Punk rock music was made to be a
shout out on the system, anarchists and the disagreement with politics.
Theres a BIG diffrence between emo and Punk.
Oh.. and as most of the old school punk from the uk ended in the
eighties..The american punk is still around here and there.. its pretty
intetesting to listen to..
I might also recommend the movie SLC punk... Its got some good humor in
it.. and it explains alot.. ____________________ "Thou shalt not be afraid of the dark, nor of graveyards nor ghosts nor the

This "cool to be punk" speil has been around longer than avril has been.
Leave the girl alone, if she wants to sing her songs and dress the way she
does, then more power to her.
And what would you say good music is. I happen to hate just about all
punk, should I listen to it anyways even though it will only piss me
off?
Let people listen to whatever makes them happy.
Also, I find wigger to be a funny word. I haven't heard another person use
it since grade school. Is it making a comeback?

One more thing about the wigger. I know that wigger basically stands for
"white nigger". Is it ok to say wigga though, especially if you happen to
be one? It's like when gang members, rappers, and comedians refer to each
other as nigga. ____________________ Sometimes I dream about dinosaurs shopping for cargo shorts at the Gap.

I dont think Court was trying to force PUNK music on anyone......but if
your gonna stereo type people at least do it right......EMO is not PUNK.
There is a huge fucking difference. Im sure that you wouldnt appreciate
Punk music for what it is, it has a message. No one is trying to force
there music on anyone, just pointing out that EMO is not PUNK!!! Who cares
if you hate it, its not for everyone. I on the other hand love it!! Still
dont care if anyone else likes it or not. Ack I am in a ill mood tonite, I
am not trying to be mean but before you jump to say things.....read what it
really says. ____________________ Guns are good, Guns are great...Kill the people that you hate! |

Yea I meant emo wasn't punk, my bad. I usually listen to old school punk,
I don't really like the new stuff that much. Generally, I would agree that
metal is alot better...depends on my mood. Pennywise |
