Well they TOLD me that surical steel is really hard to bend, other people
told me that the jaw is the strongest part of the body. Who am I going to
believe when I can count on one hand the number of bends it will take to
break the surgical steel ring that was formerly in my lip? Myself. Because
I am just that awesome and amazing. But they gave me a new one free of
charge to replace it since I'm uberly poor and they don't want me dying
from anything weird so that's a bonus for showing them something they have
never seen before I guess. I TRIED not to chew on it but I had to. I had 2
big balls - thus I HAD to play with them. (Innuendo anyone? ^.^ that's the
best part)
Trying not to chew on this new one - so far succeding since it is much
smaller and less in the way.
Anyway, the point of this post:
What is learning?
a) Finding answers to your many questions
b) Finding better questions
I'll give you a cookie if you can guess the answer I'm thinking of. Or is
it really an answer? *Does wavy voodoo "look at me being mysterious" hand
motions*
surgical steel is the hardest of the metals used in professional piercings
today... HOWEVER...lol... the jaw is resonably strong,... thogh for the
record, the glutteous maximous is the strngest

Is it really? I always thought it was the jaw.
I read once in a random fact book that a bone could support and elephant
and it had a picture of a bone with and elephant on top of it - yet bones
seem to break really easily. Well, on other people anyway.
bones CAN...under the right conditions... but that is under tensile
conditions, not shear condistions

It all depends on how the weight is distributed. Squeeze an egg in your
hand and it won't break but squeeze it with two fingers and it will. Bones
are very strong and can take a lot, depending on how the damage is
distributed to the bone.

Finding better questions is always a sure way to learn more.
Just like answering a question with another question usually results in the
person realizing how stupid, vague, or simple their initial question was.

Rayce: I have broken a lot of eggs trying that one >.<
KGM: strong teeth, comes from eating a lot of ice. and carrots.
Nie: It could also make the other person realize how stupid, vauge, or
simple the person they are speaking to is. Like this one Matrix comic I saw
with Neo and the Oracle lady, and he would ask a question and she would
repeat the question, ask, repeat, ask, repeat. So answering a question with
a question can often be pretty redundant and the original speaker will walk
away from the conversation thinking you are pretty foolish, and just trying
to show them up or something, which isn't really a good way to debate a
subject or learn anything from the conversation.
or..sometimes..one repeats a question not to point out how dumb it sounds,
but simply because the questioner must be motivated to think...

I agree Feral. I've had many questions of mine repeated back to me, or just
general statements I have made. I hear them, reflect on them, and figure
some things out for myself or realize how dumb it sounded.
Many times people don't think about what they are going to say. They just
say it. So to hear it from someone else is like hearing it for the first
time.
