Michael's been going on a complete Modest Mouse kick recently. They're a
little weird, and a whole lot intelligent, with a very eclectic set of
styles and sounds, and a penchant for non-rock and roll instruments. The
instrumentals are layered, and the lyrics are well-written, satirical, and
thought-provoking. They've been underground for some time. They've got a
video out now, though. Heard about them through my best friend from work,
and she burned some CDs for us, which Michael played to death until he
could get some real CD's. If their live CD is any indication, they also
put on a damn good concert. ____________________ "You can tell by the scars on my arms and the cracks in my hips and the

I won't say anything nasty, seeing as my favorite Pixi started this post.
But I just don't think any songs worth listening to have been made in the
past 5 years. I think we should try and rediscover the lost songs of
previous decades. I found a great 1969 album called Sympathy by a band
called Rare Bird! Great early prog rock!

I am sure there has to have been at least one good band formed in the last
five years who nobody has really heard of because they are not in the
mainstream.
This morning I listened to Apocalyptica and Voltaire. I think I want to
listen to more Smiths today, maybe before work, or I will stick with the
Voltaire to have a laugh before I go toil away. ____________________ "People always say what we are looking for is a meaning for life…I don't

I have to say Mystryss, I respect your musical taste, maybe I will have a
go at some of the bands you've suggested. But I'm not promising
anything!

Oh, those bands haven't come out in the past five years. Those were just
the bands I was listening to. I don't know what good bands came out in the
past five years. I was just saying there could be. You couldn't have
possibly listened to all of the music in the world. The Smiths have been
around a long time, 20 years or so, Morrissey ring a bell? ____________________ "People always say what we are looking for is a meaning for life…I
