I am working on a proposal to convince my employer's parent company that
on-site daycare would be a good thing, and would improve employee
retention. I'd also like to be able to finish the writings I've been
working on.
The problem? My workspace. I know it's an absolute disaster. My computer
is set up on sterlite containers, as I don't have a desk, and a broken-down
couch serves as my computer desk. More often than not, I fall asleep on
the couch because I feel so drained when I work. I've even tried working
with an office chair, but it's like my workspace is a black hole, and my
energy is drained off before i know what hits me.
The computer is in the eduication sector of my bagua, so I don't think
that's the problem; rather, the configureation of the Sterlites and the
couch may be interfereing with the flow of energy. That, and I live with a
guy that drains the energy off of me faster than I can make it.
If anyone has any suggestions about how I can reconfigure my workspace to
maske it easier to work in, please share them. I'd appreciate any help or
suggestions!

also moving things around so that you are pointed a different way could
help. adding more pillows so that you are sitting up better and more
comfortable might help. clearing clutter away from the workarea helps too.
also setting a time limit on the work like 15 minutes at a time can make
you more productive. for example work for 15 minutes, then get up get some
water walk around for 5 minutes and see if you have more work that you are
ready to do, then sit down and do another 15 minutes.
that makes sure that you "succeed" at it, and take it in manageable bites
so you dont get worn out by the sheer size of the project.

I don't know if it works for anybody else, but having some plants around,
potted or flowers, has always given me a bit of an energy boost ____________________

Ironboots....lol...it's my home office space...I agree that it violates
OSHA standards, though.
THanks for the advice, callei. I'll see what I can do about finding cloth
like that. ____________________ "To Live is to Annoy." -- Rev. Lambert Reilly, Archabbot, St. Meinrad Abbey |

Doesn't OSHA have rules about this sort of thing?
Man, sterlite, couches, black holes... That's gotta be against
regulations... ____________________ Piggy's got the Conch! |

you could start by adding some warm colored solid fabric to make the work
space more peaceful, and clean the couch ____________________ Real goths wear silver and crosses to keep the werewolves and vampires
