First of all, i want to say that I mean why are we here on earth, and not
here on shmeng.
Now, what do you think? What do you think is the best answer to the
question? Is there such a thing as a good answer? Can man find it while
still alive? And, if not, should we make a little lie to tell to ourselves
to get some peace.
I don't think we'll ever know the answer in this life. However, i like to
think that living's like being an acrobat on a cobweb of ropes of various
thickness stretched above the abyss, at various heights, trying to keep his
balance in any way he can think of. He knows not why he's here, but for his
own good, he should try to keep his balance no matter what happens, yet
understand that perfect balance is only accomplished when smashed on the
bottom of the abyss.
So here he walks, our acrobat, watching the landscape, watching the others,
watching the beauty. He'll meet varius others, some will help, some will
try to push him off, most won't even know what they're doing or they'll be
too worried about theirselves to notice him. Yet as long as he's still on
the ropes, the acrobat only becomes better in a way of another. And perhaps
he's here to ses the beauty, beauty which he may be able to create himself,
with his dance.

Sign me up for existentialism.
More seriously though, It doesn't matter why we're here to me, and their
doesn't need to be a why. I am here to have fun, and generally try to do so
as much as possible, although that may involve having to do things I
dislike ocassionally to ensure future fun... that includes stupid english
projects which I should be doing instead of posting, so I'll be able to
post in the future... I must go (although if anyone would like to analise
some terrible poetry by elizabeth brewster for me... i would greatly
appreciate it) ____________________ "Be neither a master nor a slave to pudding, for there is a time to gather,

Yes, they control the masses. They just don't give people their true

We each have our own purpose as to why we are here... it's finding it that
is the difficult part. One person's is not another's... and this is why
organized religions rarely work. What is good for the goose, in this
situation, is not what is good for the gander. ____________________ Being Passionate is the only way to survive |

i'm basically going with the, "we're here and no one knows how, why, or
what for, so i will just have to amuse myself the best i can" theory. i
tend to collect people, they're pretty amusing... |

i opt for the "chocolate" theory. That chocolate needed to exist for the
universe to be whole. therefor this planet, people to cultivate and make
it, and therefor the alien abductions. they are trying to get gene samples
so they can make thier own worker bee force to look after thier hydroponic
and chocolate factories. ____________________ Real goths wear silver and crosses to keep the werewolves and vampires

We are here because someone needs to clean the cat's litterbox.
On a serious note, I think we're here because the Power That Is got lonely,
and decided to create something roughly in its own image. Life's kind of
like a global version of The Sims, if one thinks of it in that sense. I
think that Whoever is in charge isn't as intimately in contol of human
lives as a player is with sims, though. I think the stage was set, and
it's up to humans to play out the drama to its finale.
I still think that the Designer interacts with humans. But humans are
still actors, not marionettes.
*shrug* Just my thoughts, in a nutsheel. ____________________ "To Live is to Annoy." -- Rev. Lambert Reilly, Archabbot, St. Meinrad Abbey |

We all have our purpose on this earth, we just have to find it and live for
it. In America, I wake up and live every day in means to perfect in what I
do best, so that I may have a successful career. As for myself, I live for
self-perfection. It may take a long time for me to understand myself (and
thus, improve myself), but it's something that I live for. I think we all
live for something. Some people are down-to-earth with their animal side,
living for food and sex. Others live for love. Then there are those who
live for the simple life and work.
As far as why we are here, even science is yet to discover that. For the
mean time, though, we're best off with having faith in a greater purpose,
perhaps a greater existance. |
