I just saw something that really pissed me off. Britney Spears has a star
on the Hollywood walk of Fame. I checked the story just to be sure my
newsgroup wasn't playing a practical joke. They weren't.
As someone who was a critic for 4 years for a college newspaper, this is
insane. As a former actress, it really pisses me off.
Harrison Ford, who has been acting longer than that little cunt has been
alive, just got his star in May. Steven Spielberg, who was making great
movies before she was a glimmer in her daddy's eye just got his star in
January! The guy who gave us Schindler's List, Jurassic Park, Jaws,
Close Encounters of the Third Kind has to wait decades for his star,
and that prancing little one-trick pony, who has only been around since
1998 with her crappy, whiney, nail-on-chalkboard annoying voice, gets a
star before she's really proven herself.
Sure, she's cute. I'm sure that, given half the chance, 98% percent of the
population would do her...
But that does not change the fact that she has not earned her place on the
Walk of Fame. The fact that she was honored in such a way degrades the
whole honor of being on the Walk of Fame. It's something akin to giving
Christy Canyons an Oscar...hell, even she's been around longer than Ms.
Spears.
Maybe I'm missing something here, but I still call "foul."

Brittany Spears, that two bit floozey! Wait I sound like my mom. Brittany
Spears the fucking slut! There we go. She does not deserve a star. So
many other people deserve them before her skank ass gets one. I would love
to take some black paint of permanent marker and desacrate her star on the

The biggest pisser is that all it takes is for yer fan club to raise enough
money to buy you the space. As we can see, it no longer takes talent.
I plan to start a fan club for my chest. Sooner or later, my boobs will be
on that walk of fame. I mean hell, they have more bouncy talent than B.S.
ever will. ____________________

I hate to be the wet blanket, but someone before just kind of hit the nail
on the head.
It doesn't take a prestigious career to get a star on the walk of fame. It
takes, as said, a fan club to raise $2K and get a couple hundred signatures
on a petition to achieve the said star on the walk. Is it really HER fault
that steven speilberg doesn't have a fan club as frothy and demanding as
hers?
And as for her promiscuity, it's really none of our buisness. I personally
don't care who she makes the two backed monkey with or how MANY, is that
really a good base to judge her musical performance on? I'm with you in
the thoughts that her music STYLE is irritating, but it's pop, 90% of it
is, and she has an excellent vocal range and control, not to mention the
girl can fucking DANCE like few people are capable of. I would dare to say
she's more talented at shakin her ass than she is at singing, but it's a
package deal. Plus she wasn't an overnight concocted creation, tho her
debut WAS a smash on the record charts and MTV. She started singing when
she was 8 years old, her and her mother spending months away from home and
living on the threads to help her persue a career. She started out singing
for local events in her home town, was on star search twice, two years in
the ill fated mickey mouse club (along with christina aguilerra and justin
timberlake), spent two months in a cruddy apartment with her mother to be
an understudy on broadway (along with natalie portman), and eventually
found her way into the recording studio. So as you see, not an overnight
success. You'll have to forgive me, but as a fan of playing devil's
advocate and being unemployed has left me with a LOT of time to watch VH1,
which in itself is sad, but a girl's got to keep busy somehow.
Oh, and madonna was THE ultimate slut of her time. Trashy little trollop
had people's heads spinning for decades. Oh wait, isn't she an icon
now?
And Elvis was a nasty hip shaking pervert out to seduce and pop every
underage cherry across america. I wonder what happened to him.
The Beatles were the collective antichrist, a larger threat to the nations
innocent children since communism. Only the communists aren't selling
memorabelia 30 years after it's breakup.
Prince was a nasty mouthed sex crazed freak.
My point is that yeah, her music is, to ME irritating and mindless because
it relates to me not in any way. But I'm telling you guys, in all
seriousness, if I had a body like hers, the ability to shake it, and a
voice to match I'd fucking WORK it like you wouldn't believe.
Oh, and most of the leading industiral/experimental female singers that
I've ever seen are WAY raunchier than little Brittany could ever hopes to
be. Check out Salon Betty(who throw glow in the dark tampons and vibrators
with their logo on it into the crowd, and the violinist who stripps down to
nothing but lace up vinyl hotpants), or if you live in seattle and they
haven't broken up again, Fockewulf (I have seen her underpants at every
single show, and that's the least of it) , or if you're brave,
Genitortures(find out for yourself, I lack the words to properly convey the
debauchery).
It's okay to say that something sucks because you hate it. I hate a lot of
things too, but just don't stoop to the same things that most of us accuse
others of doing. SAY you hate it! Scream it, believe it! But I simply
believe in HONESTY in hatred.
Oh, and if anyone knows whether or not Bruce's fanclub is trying to get him
a star, I got five bucks and a signature with his name on it! ____________________

To be honest, I really don't care much about Hollywood or Mrs. Spears and I
personally have nothing against her as a human - but I am sick of her face
and hearing about her.
Turn on the tv to watch the news or hell, even the Simpsons, there she is.
Look in my mail box, there she is on the cover of my old sister's magazine
(who doesn’t even live here). I drive around college - someone's BLASTING
her fucking music. I try to surf the web, she's allover the place. On Bolt,
on Yahoo etc.
I'm good at ignoring things but this blitzkrieg of marketing sometimes is
rather just annoying. ____________________
 but at least you know, just how much pain there is in living

LC: From my understanding it has always been that way, so no star on the
walk is any more prestigious than any other, as they were all achieved the
same way; not necessarily through their achievements than their fan base,
tho some people who have contributed the most sort of "deserve" it. Jeeze
Huge Heffner has a star (and I have a pic of me on it with my shirt half
off) , and what's he done? Made a multimillion company with the most
recognizeable trademark next to McDonald's taking pictures of naked girls.
And he's not even exploiting HIS body, he's "exploiting" the bodies of
everybody BUT him! (and I don't see it as exploitation, hence the " " ) If
there's a dirty old man on the walk of fame, then a dirty little girl can
be there too.
Alonesoul: I'm sick of it too, but I can't blame her. Yeah, she drives me
crazy (bad bad pun *rimshot*) but hell, like I said, if I had the talent
and the body and the right publicist you'd all be bitchin about ME while I
lounge by my pool in beverly-friggin hills. ____________________

Oh, I fully admit it all the time. If I had a body like hers, I would walk
around nekkid all the damn time. She has every right to be proud of her
figure, because she works very hard at it. But, as has been stated, before,
I think that when it comes to her actual talent, she is way over rated.
She just doesn't have the vocal talents to brag about.
I could give a flying fuck as to her sexual life, or whatnot. I think what
irritates me is that she is in fact, nothing new, nothing unusual, nothing
really exciting, but everyone treats her like some new shocker. ____________________

*shrugs* Well, I guess I can cross that off my list of lifetime goals.
And no, I don't think she has any talent. Sure, she's got a great body,
but that's about all there is to her. All substance, no style. But hey,
it's all a matter of personal taste.
MW: How about we join forces? Two sets of talented breasts have got to
have twice the impact.

just a nomination and the willingness to drop $15,000 if our nominee is
accepted.
