Cool, Devin! I like your level for forum posts - administrator! I was
wondering what you were - our Deity can't be a mere Member, and eventually,
even Fanatic doesn't fit. The Deity isn't a fanatic, his followers are!
But you get your very own title, which is as it should be! You are in a
category to yourself!
All hail Devin!

Erishkigal- I'm not sure if you are interested but here is some history
about your name:
Erishkigal is the Goddess of the Underworld in the Sumerian pantheon. This
dietal pantheon predates the Babylonian by about 2000 years. Erishkigal
plays the most prominent role in the destruction of Dumuzi, Innana's (Queen
of Heaven and Earth) husband. Innana goes to visit Erishkigal in the
underworld, but Erishkigal fixes Innana with the Eye of Death. She takes
the shrunken body of Innana and hangs it from a peg on the wall. Innana's
maid servant mourns her death, and begs Dumuzi, among others, to help
Innana. Finally, Enki, the God of Wisdom, answers the call and sends some
flies to help Innana. The flies sympathize with Erishkigal who is faking
pain in her body. Erishkigal is so moved that she grants them a wish. They
wish for Innana's body and Innana is allowed to leave the underworld. The
only problem is someone needs to take her place. Erishkigal sends too
Demons with Innana and Innana gives Dumuzi to the demons to take her place.
Dumuzi goes to the underworld because he did not morn the death of his
wife, and basically just sat on his throne and did nothing.
Short history lesson....and a life lesson, don't mourn your dead wife, and
she will be really pissed when she gets back from the underworld.

ariadnebacchus is usually what i go by. i fell in love with ariadneand how
was abandoned on the island of naxos, i could relate to her abandonement at
the time. i was pregnant and my baby's father went on a trip and
completely vanished, he is thought to be deceased. i use the last name
bacchus because of the goddess venus taking pity on ariadne's plight,
promising her the gift of a greater love, bacchus.

Psychopixi just popped into my mind randomly years ago when I was trying to
think of a Yahoo! e-mail address. I used to go by Jekyl (my surname is
Hyde) but got bored of it. Psychopixi does fit me though, when I say the
name it reminds me of a perky little pixie on a massive sugar high... which
is generally what I look like. Psychopixi got shortened to Psyche by
friends, which just sounds cool, as well as being your mind (In Freudian
terms) and a Goddess (http://psychopixi.com/Psyche/psyche.htm). Pretty
nifty, eh?!

Tallidaho is actually a name I rarely use anymore-- it was pretty
straightforward- tall because I am tall (6'4 without heels or shoes) and
Idaho because it was my home state.
Since then, I've pretty much decided on TinyTall as my usual online name-
Tiny to honor my first car, my father (who's nickname was Tiny) and for the
pure irony that comes when putting it before "Tall." Beyond all that, it
just fits me well.

An'ya was another name for Dark Night in Japanese (look at Jefferey's J/E
dictionary for that).
That and I like how it sounds. Been an online name for a long time and I
named a several roleplaying characters An'ya.

chameleon... well, i hate to say it, but there's not much history behind my
name. Basically, I like to think of myself as a social chameleon, able to
blend in to any type of social group. I'm in to so many hobbies and
activities that I'm almost a jack of all trades, but that didn't cross my
mind at the time. When I became a member oh so long ago (was it really
that long ago? I wonder...) I thought it was appropriate, and as time
progressed, it became quite aqccurate. Nowadays my friends just call me by
my last name of Zeman, because my first name Michael is one of the most
common names around... I was in a class last year that had six Michaels in
it, and oh how hellish that was!
Its so cool to discover where the names come from though. I think history
is really cool, and Ironboots, I met Brian Jacques in '99, and he signed
some of my books. He is one of the coolest authors ever!

and at parties I'm usually the quiet one...although by the sound of this
post, I think I should call myself Silly...i sound like a 8 year-old...

Cashmere is what I started calling myself whenever homeless, excessively
dirty, or otherwise frightening men would relentlessly hit on me. It is
close enough to my personality and real name that no one really notices (I
hardly look like a Sara or Joan). It also has no link to my permanent
address, and I think it sounds pretty. My dog is alos named Cashmere, but
after me and for different reasons.
And yes, creepy men do happen enough to make me change what I call myself.
I seem to be a magnet for the degenerate and horny (a completely different
story)

wow...my first post. Anyway, about the name. No matter where i go, i've
always been the token "goth" chick. Even amongst my friends, and especially
in school. Last year i stated going to a new school, (an alternative
school, not that it matters.), and i'm more or less the good kid there.(
i've always been a good kid, but no one noticed because they couldn't see
past the clothing and the pale skin.)Anyway, so now i'm not only the goth
chick, but i'm also, accorrding to my friends, the good girl.(i've never
gotten drunk, i'm not into any type of drug, virgin(grr), and have an
annoying tendancy to do the "right" thing.) So, one of my friends teasingly
referred to me as a goody goody. i laughed and said "what i'm not the goth
chick now?" his reply"oh, you are, you're the goody goody goth girl."
That's it. End of long boring story. Blah.

I used several names for a while, but there was always someone who had a
similar name and it looked like I copied them... eventually I just decided
to use my real name for everything. Few people do use their names online
anyway, so there's seldom a conflict.

Mine is my middle name, which was my mom's maiden name. People tend to
forget my first name, so a few years ago, some musician friends of mine
renamed me. The downside is that (1) everyone thinks it's French, (b) I
get accused of pretention even though it is really a part of my name.

Ravens Soul came pretty much from what Poetic Chaos said, minus the fact
she called me "ravensmuse" which is my aim name.
I chose RavensSoul, not because I'm some little wanna be goth kid who
obsesses over Edgar Allen Poe's, The Raven, but because many have referred
to me as someone who posesses a dark beauty and I see that same beauty in
ravens. They're magnificent creatures. Soul came to be because I see the
soul as being the essence of life. For me, ravens soul means beauty in the
dark essence of life. Eh... most people call me Raven and it suits me well.
Heh, i've been told I have raven's eyes

I chose SamhainWolf when signing up for Aol hell, being Samhain is my
favorite holiday, one of my favorite bands, and I love the sound of it
(pronounced: Sow-in)
I use it alot whenever I need an alias. The wolf part got tagged on there
because Samhain was taken, everywhere on the internet. So SamhainWolf was
born. It also helps that wolf is my totem animal. It's also a sly hommage
(parody?) to Silver Ravenwolf, the pagan author. Her books are decent, but
her names sounds a little too ...uh pretensious. Hehheh.
