OMG! "Beloved" is my GF's favorite song! Ever time she hears it she
completly disconnects, especially when it plays at the club! It IS a
beautiful song indeed! If everything works out right in Europe she's going
to have a little suprise when I come home! And I believe the song is about
death because of the referances to winter and because of the line "I don't
regret the choices that I made. I know yoo'd feel the same." |

It's one of the best VNV songs I"ve heard in a long time (and I love
VNV)...I thought it was about death, but like so many songs it can have so
many meanings to the diff people that hear it.
"how appropriate to dress the ground in white and shades of grey" and "the
seasons have taken all they've come for"
I heard it before the release when the guy from VNV was on a local sunday
night industrial show and I fell in LOVE with it right from the
start...then we got the CD in on it's release date from work and it was ALL
MINE!
It's all over a great CD but "beloved" is one of the only current songs
that strikes me so hard.
A little girl I knew on the internet, her boyfried shot himself (who I also
"knew"...long, old, and horrible story. Word to the wise...don't play
referee or make friends with two sides of a ridiculous relationship) in the
head when she was on vacation in alaska. He was 22, she was fourteen (like
I said..ridiculous relationship) and he left his suicide note to HER "to
prove once and for all how much he loved her" (bullshit). I sent her the
lyrics to a cure song "remember" (I think?) that was always a loving/sad
song, and she had his mom engrave it on his headstone:
"Please remember me/when I am gone from here
please remember me/but not with tears
remember I was always true
remember that I always tried
remember I loved only you
remember me and smile
it's better to forget
than to remember me and cry"
she went home and listened to that song and said that the words made her
feel so much.."better"...if you can feel better after that.
He wasn't a bad guy, just both were not mature enough or ready for the
relationship they had.

Old Yeller...man...even thinking about it makes me cry...
He HAD to do it! He had RABIES! And...and by doing what had to be
done...wesley crusher became...a man...
At least I think it was Wesley...
*Sniff* aww man...
Bambi's mom too...partly because the first shot missed, and she gave her
kid a chick's name...but mostly 'cause it was his MOM!
As tough and hard-ass as I try to sound (as tough and bad-ass as a wirey
little ball of extremes CAN be, yup yup yup) I am such a sissy when it
comes to movies and kickin' books...

"That song by johnny cash...the "I was born in the soul of misery, I've had
my fill.."...it ."
Oh yes great song. I have to find it for you on CD. It's called "13" A
Misfits cover. The man in black does it much better. It turned into a Cash
song. Sorry Glenn.
And starlight, on one of the more recent Peter albums, Recall, the very
last track, the one with no music, just him singing....my god.
This is one damned fine forum comedian.
Oh that song by Peter is called Cool Cool Breeze. You can also find it as
the opening track on Alive Just for Love. It was wonderful to hear him sing
it in person. Even though I was with Mandy and not you. Oh, christ that was
the Roxy night. Remember that. Too bad Mandy thought it was a date.
Girls....
Besides some of the songs mentioned I would have to say "All We Ever wanted
was Everything" and "Slice of Life" by Bauhaus. Dont forget "Dear
Prudence" by The Beatles.
I love you my little puddin.

When I saw AI, I cried my eyes out. And the song "Angel" reminds me of my
stepbrother, who I'm really close to but only get to see for a few hours
every few months(even though it used to be a few times a week) and I miss
him. A lot of things just make me cry because they remind me of things. |

I just got the new Johnny Cash cd, and he did a cover of NIN "hurt". I do
like some NIN, but I"m not a fanatic by any means, and "hurt" was a good
original song, but it was sort of like "ooo there's trent and his angst
music funded by his dad's air conditioning empire".....but there is just
something about hearing that song on a regular guitar and sung by an old,
tired man. It was as creepy as it was sad. We listened to it twice on our
way home from looking at ovens. Gotta cook those nosy kids SOMEHOW... ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

Sorry guys, it's called "the man comes around".
Seriously. Go get it. Comedian I know you're a cash fan too, and I have
to say this is up there as one of his finest albums. There are nothing but
amazing songs from track one to the final track. One song has Fiona Apple
singing on it with him, another has Nick Cave......and as we've been
talking about songs that just...hit you like a suckerpunch and reduce you
to a puddle of tears, you don't know sadness and loss like when johnny
sings "hurt". Michael and I were both crying the whole way home. We
listened to it twice. My god....you can't go wrong with this cd.
I swear. ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

Cash is the man. The man in black.
I remember sitting back with his album "13" and listening to it a few
times, and while it didn't make me cry, it put me to some serious
introspective time. Gotta go check this out, thanks for the tip, Bettie. ____________________ Make way for the bad guy! |

When I was pregnant, I would cry at anything - I even cried at the "love
scenes" in the Inspector Gadget movie! But there was one song that would
always get me going - it's a Metallica song, I can't remember the title
right now, but it's the one with the line "can you hear your babies
crying". I even dreamed about it one night, and when the song got to that
line, I started crying in my sleep. I woke up with tears on my cheeks!
But I'm not normally someone who cries, except when I'm really mad. When
I'm furious I bawl my eyes out, and I hate it! |

Schitzo baby I hear you. I HATE that I bawl like a mofo when I"m
pissed.
I simply cannot HELP it...I just get to that point, and it's either explode
or ...I don't even think cry is the word for it...
And then people are like "ooo you made her cry" (or you THINK that's what
they're thinking *grr*) and that makes it WORSE.
I remember desperatly trying to gasp out between sobs once "I'm...*UGH* NOT
*UGH* crying *UGH* cuz I'm *UGH* a pussy *UGH* I'm *UGH* JUST *UGH* SO
*UGH* FUCKING *UGH* ANGRY *UGH*!!!"

Any song by Cat Power, she turns me to mush, I love her work, and I can't
bear to listen to it, because if I do I start to sob uncontrolable.
Oddly enough, the movie Elizibeth does that to me too.

I haven't shed a tear in the longest time...last I remember was Tim's
funeral. This song though is the closest thing to shedding a tear for
me...(if that made sense.) It's a personal favorite.
Marilyn Manson
Fundamentally Loathsome
I want to wake up in your
white, white sun
I want to wake up in your world
with no pain
But I'll just suffer in a hope to die someday
While you are numb all of the way
When you hate it you know you can feel but
When you love it you know it's not real
No
And I am resigned to this wicked fucking world
On its way to hell
The living are dead and
I hope to join them too
I know what to do and I do it well...
When you hate it you know you can feel but
When you love it you know it's not real
No
Shoot myself to love you
If I loved myself I'd be shooting you

I felt like bringing this forum back from the dead cause I was talking to
somebody today who said to me, in all seriousness, "Of Mice and Men is a
book I do not like because it makes me cry."
I stopped nd stammered... It's a great book that I read often just to make
me cry. I often do things thta make me cry, because it's just that you
have to. Hard to explain why-- but there is a kind of joy in being sad.
At least for me. Maybe I'm just fucked up that way. ____________________ Make way for the bad guy! |

I don't think it's fucked up, Comedian.
Sometimes I like to cry. I think maybe because everyday life numbs me. I
want to FEEL something for once, and I don't care if it's joy or sorrow.
Just feeling is a joy in itself, even feeling sad. Of course, it can get
to excess sometimes, but in a controlled way, sadness can be very
satisfying. And what way is more controlled than a book? When it gets too
much, you can put it down. And when you need a dose of sadness again, you
can pick it up and read. ____________________ "You can tell by the scars on my arms and the cracks in my hips and the

Gah!
I love to read Charlottes Web, just because of the ending. It makes me cry
everytime. Is there anything more wonderful than to be able to experience
that feeling of finding something so moving mentally that your physical
body has to react and express as well? Geez, it's part of being alive!
