I was out surfing the net when I came across something from my youth. This
was sung by Ernie on ataped episode of Sesame Street I grew up with:
Well, I'd like to visit the moon
On a rocket ship high in the air
Yes, I'd like to visit the moon
But I don't think I'd like to live there
Though I'd like to look down at the earth from above
I would miss all the places and people I love
So although I might like it for one afternoon
I don't want to live on the moon
I'd like to travel under the sea
I could meet all the fish everywhere
Yes, I'd travel under the sea
But I don't think I'd like to live there
I might stay for a day there if I had my wish
But there's not much to do when your friends are all fish
And an oyster and clam aren't real family
So I don't want to live in the sea
I'd like to visit the jungle, hear the lions roar
Go back in time and meet a dinosaur
There's so many strange places I'd like to be
But none of them permanently
So if I should visit the moon
Well, I'll dance on a moonbeam and then
I will make a wish on a star
And I'll wish I was home once again
Though I'd like to look down at the earth from above
I would miss all the places and people I love
So although I may go I'll be coming home soon
'Cause I don't want to live on the moon
No, I don't want to live on the moon
This made me sob like a baby. I'm still crying as I type this.
Just wondering, does anybody else have anything hopelessly romantic that
makes them cry that they'd like to share? ____________________ Make way for the bad guy! |

Seeing children cry makes me cry. I used to have songs that made me cry but
I don't cry as easily as I used to. In fact, when I know I need to cry I
just can't. But I still cry when I see a kid crying on the news or a talk
show. |

I haven't cried in over ten years, but the one and only thing that ever
gets me close to it is when i think about my ex-girlfreind. I loved her a
lot and in a lot of ways I still love her and miss her. |

Things that make me cry:
-The song "Hold Me Now" by The Thompson Twins (I'm a HUGE 80s-freak).
Something about the song just makes me hysterical. I cried for 3 hours the
first time I heard it; it overwhelmed me. The reason is beyond me...
-The song "Every Breath You Take" by the police. One of my favorites,
though.
-The song "Moonlight Sonata" by Beethoven (C minor). My favorite song in
the world, probably. The sound is so.. hauntingly (is 'hauntingly' even a
word..? oh well) ethereal.
-Whenever I think of my.. *violent twitch* .. dead dog Jack. He was the
most beautiful dog, EVER. Looked identical to a wolf.
-The movie "Ghost".
-The movie Interview with the Vampire.. (read the book by Anne Rice).. The
part where Claudia dies.
-Butterflies. They are horrifying. Such eerie creatures. They are to be
feared and hated, not loved and playfully chased after! They're nothing
more than a stereotypical image of happiness. |

Sunsets make me cry...virtually daily. Mostly because of memories....and
sunrises make me cry every single time I see them...I've been away from my
significant other for a while (10 months) and everything that stopps me
with it's beauty...makes me cry, because she's not here to see it with
me...it's a curse I know...but I'm a Pisces, I can get away with some
mushyness...right? ____________________ I did all my best to smile... |

Shawshank Redemption makes me cry sometimes. That and uh...heh, Hope
Floats. I'm getting better at holding back the tears during Bambi though.
Good for me. |

Thinking about some of the things I did with my grandma gets down pretty
quick.
And the end of Full Metal Jacket gives me this tragic empty feeling og
hopelessness and ... somthing.. probably due to the total fucedupness of
the situation portrayed there I guess... ____________________ "There are no atheists in foxholes" is not an argument against atheists.

Chris Cornell "Wave Goodbye"
listened to it fifty million times after my grandmother died... I went in
to my own little world for awhile... haven't listened to it in about a year
and a half.
I think its about time to download it again.... ____________________ When the world is over, will we wonder how it began? |

Has anyone seen Tim Burton's Big Fish... The end of that movie got me
really choked up. I am a sentimental fool.

savy baby its all saffvy.
Does a person who lives a life knowing nothing but hapines live a good
life?
Does a person who constantliy lives in sorrow and angst and pessimism live
a "good life?"
No, cus teyr'e both fuckin missin out. Good doesn't mean happy, GOOD is
fuckin FULL. Like full on a brick of fried tofu and a jar of peanut sauce
froma shity thai restaurant. GOOD LIFE is a dented fender and a winning
five dolla scratch ticket. A GOOD LIFE is cryin when youre happy and
pissin laughing when it's all gone to shit.
We don't cry for others, we cry for ourselves, and it i s the most
fulfilling thing on the face of this grody green brick, savy? and right
now *I* cry....for the cigarette box is almost empty and I'm not legal to
drive.
This is what makes me cry. ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

Bettie_x, have ai told you lately that you kick ass?
'Cause you do. I hadn't thought of a "good life" in that way, but you put
it pretty eloquently.
Anotheir thing that makes me cry--patients who die. We get a lot of
regulars at the hospital, and most of them are in their 70s, 80s, 90, even
100s, and they're usually characters. Whether they die here or die at the
nursing home, it always makes me sad.
Especially when they die alone. No one should have to die without someone
who loves her close by.

Depending on what you mean by "good life". If you mean "have experienced a
full specturm of higs and lows and still maintained a grasp of tghe big
picture" then yeah, most of us have. Damn fine lives, when you think it'll
all end, or wish it would, and thinking that it couldn't get any better
than this, and then it does, supcerceding expectaions. That's why Johny
cash, billie holiday, "the last unicorn" and the occasional hapy song make
me cray, because I understand on a level that tho I may no know theirp
articular hardship or joy, I know the feeling. Savy?
And I kidna wish they'd stop showing the CMT Johnny Cash memorial, runny
mascara and contact lensess dont' misx. ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

I was talking on the phone the other night with my mom, and she said she
had the show CSI on, so I flipped over real fast to see if anything keen
was going on, and I got there just in time to see them pull a dead baby out
of a car.
Yes, I know it wasn't real, but it still choked me up pretty badly. ____________________ Okay, dazzle me. |

If you'll note my post, I mentioned that the book "A Child Called It"
triggered flashbacks. We cry because we're sensitive to stuff, and a lot
of people on here have had bad lives. We just choose not to dwell on them.
We may have had bad experiences, but we are not emotionally dead because
of them. ____________________ "To Live is to Annoy." -- Rev. Lambert Reilly, Archabbot, St. Meinrad Abbey |
