I feel that, although my contibution to this site is invaluable, it is time
for me to create a forum of my own so that you can begin your incessant
ranting on a different topic. I hardly need to say this, as I know you
would have taken the liberty anyway, but: Feel free to write conplete
rubbish in this forum, I donīt care about your opinions anyway.
Heres the topic:
FIAT JUSTITIA ET PEREAT MUNDUS.

Itīs my understanding that she did, although I havenīt seen her since
around 1996. The last time I saw her, she was happily giving directions to
an older Chinese woman who didnīt speak any English at the bookstore where
she worked.
I know there are multiple dialects in China, but I was under the impression
that they had a "state" language as a default... Mandarin, maybe? India
has the same arrangement, something like 16-20 distinct languages each with
its local dialects. Another friend of mine who hails from India told me
about how they must constantly "code-switch" (Translate things in their
heads from their native dialect, through another language, and into
whatever language they are being spoken to). It always amazes me that
there are so many misunderstandings in the United States where at least the
majority of us are monoglots.

Yes, but did she get the videos and understand them?
Thereīs something like 16 seperate dialects of Chinese, ranging from
Southern mandarin to Mandarin to Cantonese to City speak... ____________________ Make way for the bad guy! |

Comedian (I presume): I am reminded of an acquaintance of mine a few years
ago who had developed an unhealthy fixation on the film star Jackie Chan.
She called the distributer of his films in Hong Kong to complain about how
a great body of his work had not been translated into English and she
wanted to see those movies. After a brief long distance fight, the
distributer suggested sarcastically that this woman could learn Chinese if
she were that darned interested. Within a year, this woman had become
reasonably fluent in conversational Chinese. Whenever I think that my mind
might be too ossified to take in anything new, I remember this friend of
mine and think to myself that nothing is insurmountable if you have a
schoolgirl-type crush. Of course, this rarely motivates me, but I thought
I would share. I am, I was, I will be

Abbadon (I presume): I hope I havenīt misrepresented myself. I have only
ever formally studied French, Japanese and German. Any familiarity I have
with Latin has been picked up via osmosis. Incidentally, there is only one
"c" in "necessitas". ____________________ "I believe that woman is planning to shoot me again." |

Grudges and smouldering anger are a lifesaver!!

Oh, wonderful, Abbadon! Iīd feign be resigned to recognize you under
another name. Abbadon fits quite well.
Anyway, I guess learning latin would be good. I canīt really out-speak my
boss, since most words have latin roots. Sheīs damn hard to beat, although
there -are- greek/cyrillic words.
Smart people rock.
But Iīm pretty bad with revenge. Iīm slow to anger and quick to cool down.
The only time I could really formulate a plan would be when Iīve broke, but
then its hard to carefully erect a plan. Oh well. ____________________ Piggy's got the Conch! |

Mono, I am extremely impressed by your knowledge of Latin! Try this one:

You will just have to wait until I have thought up and equally biblical
sign-in name before I can return to spout peudo-intellectual gibberish at

I have to agree with you Bettie, revenge is great, but needs planning.
Personally, I wonīt do anything to someone that I hate until they least
expect it, like say a year or two after the fact. And then, it will be
something that they least expect, with little to no way to trace it back to
me. ____________________ Sometimes I dream about dinosaurs shopping for cargo shorts at the Gap.

Thanks Mono.
I, personally, have been a fan of learning Chinese for a while. Though I
donīt think at my age I could handle learning in, nor any of the dialects
given how crusty my brain has become. But a brilliant language and system
of writing nonetheless. ____________________

Well mono, youīre not the only one
Nobody has to agree with me, but only respect my opinions as I respect
theirs...seems simple enough and most people around here get it which is
really really nice.
I will always leave a fight with perhaps a black eye, but pride and self
respect in tact if it kills me. I wonīt be a victim, I wonīt be a stat,
and I wonīt just close my eyes and take it (ie: anything bad that I have
control over). I donīt rush into anything...which is why I STILL havenīt
bought a new car...I have too much aries in me for my own good sometimes,
but luckily I was born ON the taurus cusp and it levels me out. I think
before I rush.
Comedian: Scorpios are FRIGHTENING. My best friend is a scorpio AND A
full blooded scottish REDHEAD *shriek*...and somehow Iīve managed to stay
on her good side for 13 years, THANK GOODNESS. Sheīs loyal as blood to
those that are close to her, but her motto is:
fuck me once, shame on you
fuck me twice you better have good life insurance.
But NOTHING is scarier than virgos *shudder*

Squidlet: Now, they are probably just as frightened of you as... well...
hmm. Iīll get back to you on that, although, honestly, if we got rid of
all the ugly people as per your wish and all the stupid people as per my
wish, and all the assholes, et cetera as per the wishes of the majority, we
would have plenty of room to park.
Bettie: I respect your position. I donīt subscribe to it, but I admire
anyone who can stick to their guns in a rational way.
Comedian: The latest Latin outburst translates to "I hate the uninitiated
rabble and keep them far from me". Iīm guessing here, but it seems the
sort of thing Horace might have said originally, but it looks like Abbadon
has said most recently. I liked your Mandarin Chinese suggestion, but Iīll
take whatever language someone wants to make themselves feel important
with. Anything is better than that Orwellian Webspeak one finds on the
boards from time to time. I am, I was, I will be
das Fremdsprecher,

Scorpios, the Assassins of the Zodiac... No matter what physical torment
we can confer, the worst punishment of all is to be damned to do it again..
WHich is the inherent problem with any vendettas. Dooming ourselves to
our enemyīs fate does nothing.
I wasnīt able to dig up my old copy of "Amo, Amas, Amat and More" from

I"m not talking grand scale...and true vengence is well thought out...not
running around with a club.
I do believe in it, as others believe in pacifism.
I would rather be a force to be reconed with than a doormat. I would
rather spend a night in jail than take a beating with my head between my
knees.
Anything grand scale (war, politics, etc) regarding vengence HAS to be well
thought out, tho it rarely IS (ie: gulf war, "war on terrorism" and all the
other nasty little crap weīve been involved with in the past few decades).
Thatīs not vengence, thatīs retardism with guns.
Everything I do in life and say in life is carefully thought out...from my
opinions on things and my actions. I fuck up like everyone else, but I
keep it to a minimum by either keeping my mouth shut (and that is very very
hard) or not getting involved.
Israleis (spelled?) on the most part (Islamic, that is) are relatively
peaceful...the vengence that they believe in are only in extreme
circumstances like when your religion/way of life/family are in grave
danger....itīs the religious zealots (like in all religions) that take it,
warp it, make it suit their cause, that give it a bad name.
Just my pennyīs worth.
Usually I just make sure I either donīt have enemies or that the ones I do
have know not to bug me.
It has been rare indeed just how many times I"ve had to take action for my
saftey or peace of mind.
Usually I"m quite peacable and rather low key.
Iīve got a short fuse, but itīs hard to light and I donīt take anything I
do lightly.
Vengence, like religion, wine and slumming, can be healthy if taken in
moderation, and with a lot of thought. ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

Well, heres another of my wonderful Latin quotes to keep you fumbling along
