Preach: A Brief Description of Morte's Time |
Posted by
MorteAscendo on Saturday, July 26, 2003 - 04:04 AM PST
Well, it has been along time since I have posted anything so I thought I would share some of the wacky things that have been going on in the life of Morte.
As most of you know I work in a Naval Hospital and I am the Telecommunications Officer for the whole command. I have been doing this for a god-forsaken year! Now my time has come to transfer and where you ask? To the MORGUE!
I will be the Medical Examiners assistant for the next year and 8 months! I am so excited you have no idea. If any of you have read some of my past posts you would know about some of my experiences up in the Medical Surgical ward (barf!). But now I finally have a chance to do something that I will enjoy: the blissful duty of only dealing with the dead.
I know it sounds gross to most of you, but ask Dolo, it is an experience and a half. You learn more about the human body in 2 hours then you ever will in school. It will just be a blast.
Something new happening in my life that I have not yet shared with Shmeng, is that I am getting married on November 8th, of this year. The planning has been in the works for a while; I just didn’t want to say anything right away. My bride-to-be and I will be getting hitched at Wayfarers Chapel in San Pedro California. It is a church completely made of glass and over looks the peninsula and Catalina Island. There is a web page if anyone is interested.
Also, in other news, I have moved into a Japanese style home in downtown Okinawa City and have been there for about 2 weeks now and we are just loving it. You know when you move to another house and it just feels like home. I don’t know, but this new house feels like a home, not a house if you understand where I am coming from. I will post some pics as soon as my Internet is hooked up.
Well, that is about it. Just thought I would share with you all. Give you something else to read then some of the pissed off-ness I have noticed. =)

Congratulations, hun! I'm sad I can't give you away... *sob*
Oh, wait: that's the bride.
Have fun with the stiffs though. I hear dead bodies are great conversationalists.
Love, Big Mamma

Thats awsome! You'll have to send us pictures of course! I want to know the website of this chapel, as it sounds really interesting... Completely glass you say? The house must give you some serious good vibes though, if it already feels like home. By thew way, would you by chance know if native sushi is better than the crap most plaes have in the states?
Thats all I havew to say, aside from have fun with the dead people...

Congratulations to you Morte! It couldn't happen to a nicer guy. May you both know eternal bliss. I had thought about Mortuary school, but, those plans changed after one year of biology when I couldn't disect kermit and passed out from the formaldehyde. lol.

wahoo welcome (an early welcome) to the land of the married! Match made in hell, I'm sure, as all good couples are. And if you really wanna have some fun, and if you have the typical military "exiting the church blah blah blah" thing with the raised crossed swords bit, have a buddy at the end smack her ass with his sword. I witnessed that when I went to my mother's cousin's wedding when I was 8, and *I* thought it was HILLARIOUS...she on the other hand was a sort of castrating bitch (their marriage lasted two months) and DIDN'T think it was funny, but if your girl has any sense of humor/fun, you might give it a whack *rimshot*.
Best of luck to you both, and take lots of pictures, and let us see!

Re: A Brief Description of Morte's Time by bettie_x (strangersangel@hotmail.com) on Jul 30, 2003 - 12:09 AM (User info | Send a Message) http://bettie_x.tripod.com/ | I think, I have no idea, I was 8 years old and couldn't figure out why the hell I was at a wedding for people I didn't know and why *I* had to go but my dad and sisters didn't. I think he was a marine, but all I know is that she turned around and socked the poor guy who gave her the playful slap (at his friend's request, no less, "it'll be funny" he said *sheesh*) |

Alright!! Man, good shit is just piling up on you isn't it? Morgue duty rocks! Dead people are the nicest, quietest, sweetest patients you'll ever have...and it actually smells a lot better than the average ER, considering all the BO and other such lively smells therein. Congrats on getting hitched man...I'll be there, currently working on getting there on time actually. Man...sometimes I miss the island...
Did you ask her to marry ya on Gate 2 street?
