This may put some panties in a wad, so you may want to remove them before reading...From things I've seen here and on several other messageboards, it seems that cattiness is on the rise. And frankly, cat piss stinks.
(note: this is something that's been building up over a long long time, I realize I'm probably overblowing it, but I see it at work, on television, in conversations I hear, on messageboards and such. I AM NOT ATTACKING ANYONE FOR ANY COMMENTS MADE, THEY ARE YOURS AND YOURS ALONE AND I FEEL YOU ARE ENTITLED TO THEM IN EVERY RESPECT, THIS IS A SORT OF RUM AND COKE WITH EXTRA CHERRIES EDITORIAL ON SOMETHING THAT'S BEEN BUGGING ME NON STOP FOR *YEARS* [especially triggered by the "this insults women" sticker put on my car over my bettie page air freshener on the windshield] ...the hatred of anything sexual and "womanly" begun by 1960's bra burning femi-nazis that make it a crime to proverbial "shake your moneymakers"...If you're mad at me after this, it's okay, just send me a message and I'll play nice and explain myself a little clearer when I'm nice and sober)*ahem*What's up with everyone being so mean to the new girl?I've seen good and plenty pictures that have big boobs into the camera. A LOT. Nobody seems to have a problem with them.So what's with the hostilities? I'm sure some of us thought we were being harmlessly funny, but some of us were down right MEAN.I mean jeezus christ, ARE THEY REAL?! Does you collar POP them when you lie down?!or my favorite.....um, yeah...C'mon you guys, for a 'persecuted subculture' that is so into frowing upon superficiality and how ignorant 'those people' are for making fun of or judging us on our appearance, we sure like to dish out what we hate the most.For such intellectual people, we're really good at making people who popped up to say "hi" feel like big breasted shit.What a welcome mat to such an open minded clique....forgot about that big trap door underneath it.Hell, I like pictures that are accidentally situationally funny....jeezus I put up a picture that looked like a goddamned PLUG was coming out of my head and into the wall!*I* laughed over that when I saw it.And I know I'm not known for being the nicest person in the world, but when I feel my humor is unwelcomed nor reciprocated, I STOP. I won't be a hypocrite, I will own up to it if anyone cares to put up how I hurt their feelings or whatnot.But to make fun of someone because of their physiology? Man....I mean, it's your perogative to speak your mind as you wish and how you wish (as the reason I'm here! Praise our constitution!), just as it is her perogative to put up a picture that has her boobs in it. But the question I pose is, who asked?I've seen a lot of classy photos of beautiful women that get catty comments, like someone popping up and saying out of the blue "I don't find her attractive at all". That's nice, but who asked you? Granted, if they had put up a caption that read "look at my beautiful '___' or 'aren't I attractive" then it would be warranted, but (here comes the mean side) if everyone would put up what they really think (or what I really think) of some of the pictures up there, it would take the wind right out of your sails and attitudes. You wouldn't like it at all. It would hurt your feelings, like hers were.Man, for my part I would LOVE to have half of that...just to be over an A-cup...but after a few of the things said, I think I'm glad I'm not.But I'm sure someone special gets to appreciate them a lot more that some of us did. I'm just glad that my fiance likes "fun sized" boobies or I might have some competition :)C'mon, I know I've made someone mad. Go ahead, I'm a big girl, I can take it.But I agree with Devin...Catty comments suck.

Um, Yeah.
That was my only responce to that picture. what the hell else am i sposed to say? The whole focal point of the picture is her breasts. How am i being catty? If i wanted to be catty.. believe me. I would be. *I* posted a cleavage picture a long while back and why? Because i thought it was funny.
A girl shouldnt be reconized for how large her funbags are or how good she can suck a cock. I am sure the new girl is friendly. or has a great personality.
but when she posts a picture with cleavage to her chin.. how am i to react?
As to the other comments. i dont know the feeling that was backing them. but mine was certainly not to be pertained as catty. Thankyou very much. :)

I didn't say you were catty, if you had read closely, it wasn't an attack, I didn't single anyone out, and I wasn't flinging accusations blindly without consequence.
I DID however say it was mean. I mean c'mon court, you're a nice girl from what I've seen, and if someone said that to you, it'd hurt. A lot. I know you put your own 'boobie' picture because you felt it was funny, but whatever reason she did, I doubt in any situation that an "um, yeah" could be seen as funny or friendly in any way. I, the bigest, nastiest, sarcastic brat on this whole damned messageboard was a little stunned by how BRUTAL people seemed to be on this one person out of the blue!
How are you to react? However the hell you want to, girl, it's a free country!
But with freedom or power comes responsibility. You can react without making someone feel like shit, hon. And some people who saw some of the comments who DID know the people here and how they are didn't see the humor and thought everyone was just jumping on this poor girl.
Since I don't want this to be a bitchfest, as I have no desire to start an argument with you or anyone (within reason, of course, you know me) I'll reiterate that this wasn't a fight starter, a means to point fingers and call names, but just to let people know that they hurt someone's feelings and don't seem to care! This wasn't about you, or ick, or anyone else that said something that was mean or just misunderstood/misdirected humor, it's about how even under the premise of acceptance and discarding superficiality, we who disown the disgusting ignorance and petty pissant B.S. of the masses, we suffer the same pitfalls, just won't admit it.

When looking at a pic of someone isn't it a good idea to try and look at the whole pic, not just what her boob size is. It's like looking at a pic of a guy and trying to check out how big the bulge in his pants is. Try looking at the face first then check out the rest of it.
I'm with bettie, I got pretty ticked looking at the comments made. Making someone feel a least partially welcome and not feeling like they are going to be ranked on for just putting a pic up. Come on! Constructive criticism is not that bad of a thing either. They'll find out soon enough that we all have a bit of an attitude (if they haven't already from looking around), let alone the honesty they are going to get in this site. Don't get me wrong, this is one of the better sites that I frequent. The honesty is a nice change from the games played on other sites. Would it hurt any of us to at least try and make the new person feel a little welcome before you start in on them.
I don't have a pic up because I don't have one I like, let alone what everyone else is going to say. That part I really don't care about, I have to be pleased with it first before I put it up.

Damn. Missed sparks flying and flames everywhere and whatnot.
But, when you look at a picture, you only see a temporal moment out of someone's life. A single second. 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day... To base judgements of people based on a single picture that depicts only a fraction of a person's activity seems rather... quick?
To draw this back to humor, stileproject once posted a link to "the world's sexiest woman." It was four pages of a girl gradually stripping, and the last picture of her had her with her pants down. She was a hermaphrodite. For viewing any of the other pictures anybody could think that she was a woman.
I sent the link to a buddy who sent it to a friend who in a chat six months later said one of his buddies puked when they got to the last picture.
Le sigh. Don't judge life on a single second, instead, judge it on words and meaning and dialogue and videos and a full view of the person you're about to judge.

When i had boobs, I showed 'em off. There is no way to hide them and you get fewer looks if you stick 'em straight out than if you try to pretend you havent got them. You also end up with better selfestemm than hating your own body and all it has to offer
The fundimental Christian idea that women are evil, (dont ask unless you want to me to tell) compounded with the idea that women only have value as housewives or whores, compounded with other womens' self opinions (beliveing that they are either a housewife or a whore) makes for lots of mean things said.
She posted one of the cuter pix. Following this bend, evil logic, she is a whore and therefore, unlike christ, we , the other women MUST throw stones, if we are to prove that we are good housewives.
Me, id rather be the whore, less dishes and the men are more polite.

The Bible was actually EXTREMELY radical in it's views of women and their rights. Way back in that time, for anyone who actually knows history of that time, the Romans had a very interesting view of women, (and this was the most advanced society in the world, by the way). Women, to the mighty Roman empire were nothing but slaves to the men. The wives of the men were used as servents to answer every beck and call of the man. They were verbally and phisically abused, and treated like absolute shit. They had no rights. The husbands would not even have sex with them. They had mistresses for that. It was horrible. Paul, went into Rome and preached to them about women and how they were to be treadted and he was run out of the city for it. It was the most radical thing they had ever heard. In the Bible, it refers to women as precious gems that should be loved and cherished above all other things in the world. In talking about sex, it says that women shall not withold from theman, but, also, men should not withold from the woman. The problem is is that modern-day Christians have gotten away from the fundamental teaching of the Bible, and therefore have warped societies views of Christians. The Bible points out that men have strengths that women don't have, and women have strengths that men don't have. In this, they work together to hold one another up and supplement the other's weakness. They are to be equal in this. This shows a right for equality. If everyone did it this way, the world would be a much better place. The problem is is that men have failed to treat women with the respect that the Bible teaches. In doing this, he has held women down. This caused women to have to rise up and assume the role of the male. Then, this stupid idea started circu;ating, (especially in the 80's), that it was a sign of weakness to want to play the role of a woman. This really sucks, because now women don't think that being a woman is good enough. They don't realize how incredibly special it is to be a woman. Any woman can "become" a man, but not many men can develop the natural empathy and emotional strength that women possess. I could go into this much more, but I don't have time and I am starting to rant. The point is, that is was always secular thinking that treated women like shit, not Christianity.

Sam, with all due respect, you have absolutely no clue. Romans, at the time of Paul, were the most advanced society also in the way they trated women. And I have taken several years of Roman Law, I know what I say. Women had all the rights of men but poliitical ones as long as they remained single or married "sine manu" (without hand). In theory, women were supposed to belong to either their father's or husband's family, un which all patrimonial right was held by the "paterfamilias", the father of the family (this was also true for males). In practice, there were many ways in which a woman could constitute her family by herself, and they did. Actually, many historians agree that it was this possiblity that Roman law gave to women to be fully independent as long as they didn't marry cum manu what caused the degradation of Rome's patricians and equites, as women wouldn't marry or have children as it meant a loss of independence. I guess Gothvail knows this much better than me, that's her field. But believe me, Roman wives were not at all slaves, nor trated as slaves and if they were they could denounce their husbands and divorce or whatever they pleased. They were extremely found of malthusian practices, even though their husbands needed a heir, but they could not be forced to have it. And they had lovers too, and Mesalina to prove it
As for the bible... Well, there is no greater mysogin in it than Paul. If there is something Paul hated, that's women. It was he who started Catholic wiews on women, allowing only males as priests in the communities he founded, saying things like God is the head of Man and Man is the head of Woman (if that's not puting women under men, nothing is), or all that stuff about how much better it is not to marry. Christianism, t iths very beginning, was as chauvinist as the old religion it came from, where orthodox jews gave thanks to the Maker because they hadn't been created women. You can say that's not Christ's way, and I agree (actually the first person He appears to is a woman, thus making her the first christian), but Rome had a much more equalitarian wiew on Women than Paul. |

On another note, wow this is going way off the origional subject, but I want to clear this up. Protastants are not Catholics and visa versa. It is actually believed by many scholars that the Catholic religion was an adaptaion of a form of a rleigion in the middle esat that worshiped the goddess Ishtar. When the Protastants decided to one day become stupid and envoke an expansionist policy, this other religion, pardon me for forgetting the name, but I believe it to be a for of Hindu, was fearful. So what they did was change the name of Ishtar to Mary and that of Ishtar's child to Jesus, in order to be spared and continue worshiping. This is only a theory, but a very strong one, especially now that the Catholic church is considering joining with the Ecumenical church. Anyways, apart from that, the Catholics are not Christians by the teaching of the Bible. They have added much to the Bible, and taken much out. All of their rituals and such, are completely unfounded. Their leagalism and predjudice is then projected onto the protastants, (the true ones, anyways), who just rely on the old ways, not the new, biggoted, warring ways.

Second, you're posting semi-anonymously with just "Sam" to fill in any identity, so I have no idea how long you've been on the site; but did it occur to you to wonder where the opinion you so berated came from? I happen to know it comes from personal experience at the hands of christians, from the words they spoke, and from her life in general. So it's a bit more of anecdotal evidence than opinion. And she said you could ask if you wanted to know.
Third, the Protestants came about as a protestation of the Catholic rule of religion. In some cases (I'm speaking from very ancient family history here) it was specifically in protest of the Catholic ruling that private citizens could not own their own bibles (My great-some-odd-grandfather nailed his family bible to the lectern thing to keep them from taking it shortly before he bailed for the new world). To make this bit of rant short, that was less than 300 bloody years ago, a wee bit after the Catholic church was formed from the ashes of whichever religion it was originally based on. (note: I have always heard it was based on an old sun god {Mithra})
I can come up with a thousand reasons why your two posts so struck my ire here, but I'm going to stop here and make myself fel a bit better by saying "So there! Nyeahhh!" |

I might be wrong. Anyway I wanted to say I really liked that story. Nailing one family’s bible (to prevent it from being removed or as a symbol to claim one’s capacity and authority to read and understand it) is quite romantic and worthy of a song. Your ancestor really “tenía los huevos cuadrados” (literally had his balls cubical, meaning he was extremely brave and defiant). I praise his action.

All the groups that say they are Christian and then follow the old testiment are, by thier actions, denying thier Christ. All the Christians that let Love guide thier way, let the children live and learn love, and follow the laws of the ruler in thier land are the real followers of that Christ.

I think all Christians should read and understand the old testament to have a clear vision of why Jesus did what he did, and actually what was it. I don’t believe one can fully understand the new without a good knowledge of the old (and traditions, and numerology, and...) That’s one thing, and burning oxen because they smell nice is another, of course.

Sam, really, I’d like to read the writtings of these scholars you mention. I guess they are still at school. The Catholic religion originated from a cult to Ishtar? The Babylonian goddess of love and war? My, that is a theory I would really want to hear. I know Jehova’s Witnesses think the pope is the devil, but at least they grant him some relationship with Christ.
But that’s not the best of it Sam, you really MUST check your history books and make your scholars eat them. Protestant or Reformed churches are a result of Marthin Luther’s reform of the church he belonged to. And guess what, he belonged to the Roman Catholic church. The Reform is most usually dated in 1520 when Luther burnt the De Surge Domine epistle which eccommunicated him (And the Corpus Iuris Canonici, and the Summa Theologica... but everyone seems to forget that). So unless your scholars are saying that until 1520 Catholics worshipped Jesus and Ishtar (That seems taken from Brave New World), they have absolutely no idea. Please! The idea is so ridiculous I don’t know why am I caring to discuss it, besides from giving you a ground-level information to know what kind of shit they are selling you. The Almighty Roman Catholic church fearing the protestants? My, Catholics stopped fearing anything after they conquered the Roman Empire...
Then, your opinion that the fact that “the Catholic church is considering joining with the Ecumenical church”. Man, where do you get your information from? Ecumenical theories and positions are those which claim for a rejoining of the Christian churches! There are ecumenical movements all around the world., in all serious Christian churches, from the Roman to the Evangelist I am ecumenical myself
But the best part of it is that catholics are not christians. Well, if you ask any Catholic they will tell you that they are. Actually they are MUCH likely to tell you that all other christian churches are limbs of a tree whose trunk is catholicism, and they’d have history to back them up (I mean temporarily, not theologically). And so Catholics are not christians by the teaching of the bible? My dear man, the bible does not talk about catholics, and if it did, it would be when Jesus Himself starts the Catholic Apostolic church with the “tu est Petus” thing. Catholic means Universal, and the full title of the follower of the church is Christian Catholic Apostolic Roman menaing “Universal church of Christ which follows the apostolic line and has its sede in Rome”.
Catholics have added to the bible and taken out from it? My, I talked about that already, Catholics MADE the bible, finally aproving it in the Nicea Council, sessions for Unification of rthe Doctrine, in the mid third century. Check your sources. The rituals are unfonded? Have you studied them? Catholic rituals are so boring (and I am the first to admit that) because everything has a meaning. And they reproduce the Last Supper, following Christ’s words “Do these things to remember me”
Well, and saying the Catholic way to do things is new... If you mean the changes after Vatican II...

They do in America, at least at the Catholic wedding that i went to. That was the part i understood the most of the whole ceremony (there was some singing and some standing and sitting and a lot of people went up and drank the wine and ate the wafer thingy. I didnt as i thought it would be disrespectful to join a ceremony that i didnt understand)
I am sure that you have been to a few Catholic weddings and I am curious if it is the same there, that the preist extols the virtues of both sexes and thier need for partnership.
I mention this because the 2 protestant weddings that i have been to (not the 1 unitarian one tho) were very different. the priest told the soon to be husband that he had to look after his wife and make her come to God in one and in the other, the priest said something about we are all sinners and we are all bad, and hopefully you (to the man) can keep her (the woman) from getting worse.
And they werent as pretty. |

But you are right. Catholic weddings are the prettiest, actually Orthodox are even better.

Man, this is going over a lot better than I anticipated. I figured that this would be the end of bettie x, and I should at least go out with a bang.....how unexpected.
I'm glad some people get it.
This wasn't intended to slam or ridicule or single out. I didn't use names, feeling that would be unfair to those involved, slinging mud before things could be ironed out, so to say.
This is, as C said, not just about some picture, it's about the way things have developed over years and years. Degenderization. That it's not okay to be what you ARE. I had some bitch put a piece of tape on my windshield over where my bettie page air freshener was, stating that it insults women. Well, I'm a woman, and I'm not offended. So does appreciating a pretty girl make me less in the eyes of my own gender?
If it does, I denounce them, every last one.
I'm tired of being leary of dressing up, even for work, for fear of being seen as "competition" or a "cock tease" if I go to a bar, even with my fiance! That my merely putting effort into my looks will draw attention away from some sullen ho bag and in turn she won't get laid because of me, though I'm clearly taken by the scary man on my arm and the nice fat diamond on my finger.
It's almost a crime nowadays to want to look, act, and BE a girl. If you dress down and don't pay much attention to your looks and focus on your brain and intelligence, you're a dyke or a nerd, and if you dress up, are smart AND pretty, you're a bitch or a whore or a cock teaser/blocker and ultimately COMPETITION.
When did women get so fearful of each other? Perhaps I'm outside the curve or something, but it never occured to me that another girl was a threat. Not even strippers.
Ultimately, I just feel that we were waaaaaay to hard on someone we never met before. Yes, she probably is a very very nice girl....but how will you know now that you've completely alienated and put her into a very uncomfortable corner?
And you know this isn't the first time her breasts have been the first thing people comment about, ask about, and talk to.
But you know what? If she's proud enough of her body to show them, who are we to judge?
I don't know, it's years of frusteration coming to a head over a picture.
I've said my piece, and I'm certainly glad that I didn't come off as the big raving bitch I usually do and that I've been clear about my feelings.
And that I'm not alone.

I didn't even see the picture - nor do I know of a new girl (you leave for a few days and you miss everything!). Even without seeing it I can tell I would probably feel the way Bettie X does - I hate when someone is brave enough to share themselves with others and the reaction they get is nothing but snide, hateful, snotty remarks. I would never post something that would hurt someone else, simply because if others saw my picture; that is what I'd receive. There are very few pictures of me, I don't like my appearance at all so I avoid getting them (I wasn't even in my senior yearbook). Now for me to post a picture in a public, to let myself be judged, is a big step in the way of building self confidence or destroying it. Who knows though, I didn't even see the picture...

She is wearing a corset (I'm pretty sure, I didn't confirm that with her though) which actually gives that effect. To me, anyone who is bold enough to bear themselves to us is beautiful. |

It's always the pretty girls, or the girls who try to make themselves pretty or kept up and not look like slobs.
This is the reason I stay away from girls.
Hell, even people I hate that are on here I refrain from saying mean things about on their pictures!
I'm just glad I didn't get firebombed off the face of the earth with this article, I could feel the panties of every member crawl up their ass as I wrote it! IT's gone suprisingly well...

That picture has awesome contrast. You and Devin are right though, it is usually the people who try to look prettier that get shot down the fastest. I know she was offended and I'm not even sure she comes here anymore. That is no way to treat someone - especially for no reason.

i dont *think* i commented on it simply because if i did say something it would have been mean.. in all truth its who i am.. hell i go to stripclubs.. i would go with the mean guy on my arm in a heartbeat.. HE wont even go to one.. (least not with me) guys (i dont think) for the most part dont want females to see them gawking at other females.. weather it makes them feel inferior or whatever..
no i dont have a pic on here either i too need to be happy with the picture before i let people judge me on it.. i hate cameras.. specially when they arent my own.. simply for the fact that i may never see the photo that has been taken..
