Hey all, I have a question:
Have you ever been sitting in your not so favorite bar, but you're there because the gay bar is always full on the weekends, but anyway....
You're enjoying your drink, enjoying your favorite black papered clove cigarette when the charm is disrupted by a typical smoker's hack....you look into your napkin at what your body has expectorated as mommy has always taught you to do....
a blood clot.
you run to the bathroom.
A F*ING blood clot.
I was under the impression that only the seriously strong clove cigarettes would cause your lungs to bleed, not the lighter potency blends.
I hacked up and goddamned bloodclot.
I asked a guy at work if I was going to die, and he informed me that regular smoking of them thar cloves will cause tiny cists to form in your lungs, and that I probably just burst one of them. *EW*
Needless to say I've cut my smoking dramatically, but I don't want to quit :(
Does anybody have any info on if I'm dying or what?
I dont' like regular cigarettes much, and I know I can quit cold turkey, I do once and a while just to make sure I can. WHAT DO I DO?!
I'm so goth I hack bloodclots....how goth is that?

Bettie,
This would be a REALLY good time to quit smoking, at least for a few months. Your lungs need to heal. Constantly exposing them to cigarette smoke does not allow them to heal.
Clove cigarettes can be worse than regular cigarettes. Clove oil is an anaesthetic, so it slightly numbs the back of your throat while you smoke it. This leads to the smoke being inhaled much more deeply. This leads to even more damage.
You may want to see a doctor. Perhaps a chest x-ray is in order.
Are you on the pill? If so, QUIT SMOKING NOW! The combination of the two can cause blood clots everywhere in the body, which can lead to strokes.
Take care of yourself! Quitting smoking may be hard, but emphysema and lung cancer are a whole lot worse.
