One, Russia has an enourmously larger land mass than that of the US. Two the population densitiy between the two nations is greatly different. Three, Russia is known to have some of the bloodiest killers and murders around, so much so that the FBI has been known to consult with Russian criminologists on crimes. I don't think there is that much disperity between the two nations as far as crimes go.
