What you do is called a paleo diet... eating as a caveman would eat. Any diet that cuts out all the unnatural substances that are so prominent today in food is a good one. Sugar especially will make you absolutely bugshit. Paleo is eating anything you could eat if you were in the wild with only a stick and a loincloth. No vegetables that need to be cooked or refined to be edible, no grains, no dairy products... that sort of thing. It's supposed to be really healthy. I tried it once and got lots of energy, and dropped 10 pounds in a week. Unfortunately, it's also expensive, you're buying meat and fresh produce, and both of those are more expensive than grain products and canned foods, which are loaded with chemicals and salt.
Another diet that I'm starting to like is the raw food diet... eat nothing that has to be cooked or processed... this by its nature in this day and age of nasty meat that is dangerous if you don't cook it, is vegan... but there's no way to get nasty substances in your body on it, if you buy organic, non-genetically messed with produce. The idea is that if you cook vegetables, you kill the enzymes that are what your body needs, so eat them raw, in their natural form, and they're almost pure goodies. Kids that grow up eating processed food, and scorn vegetables, are getting very little in the way of nutrients, and are ingesting loads of chemicals, and that's enough to make anyone crazy.

It's not so much the meat...it's exactly that. Nothing but refined sugars and processed garbage.
Dorritos and coke and lollipops don't make for a stable person.
As EVERYONE and their mother knows, I have a severe personal "issue" you could call it with meat.
That's not the point.
Some people have a biological need for it (tho I wonder if the component found in it could be found elsewhere..out of curiosity) and some tolerate it just fine. I choose not to.
I'm talking the milk, the milk products, refined sugars and genetically engineered crops. The "flavors" and dyes they have to reintroduce into foods because they were stripped of it during processing. DON'T think this is healthy.
When I see easy feed products introduced to the market...portable everything, plastic wrapped everything...preying on the frazzled nerves of anxious mothers who really do want the best (and easiest) thing for their children...they don't investigate what that food went through to BECOME so convenient. And what those added components could be doing to their kids brains.
Most kids who have home cooked meals (vegetarian or not) are more in control of themselves...kids that eat nothing but prepackaged convenience snacks and meals are usually bouncing off the wall and rather manic.
Good for the drug companies, but what for the generation of doped up half crazed junk food junkies? What about them? Can't take those pills forevery, you know.
Anybody here have a grandmother on ritalin?
Coming soon to an overinhabited planet near you...
