The above was written by me. For some reason, if it takes me longer than twenty seconds to type a post lately, the site forgets who that I am logged on. I am, I was, I will be,

Of course you have some points...which is why I also do not drink public water, and at least use a purifyer on mine (lessen the risk..doesnt' cut it totally, but hey) when I don't have bottled.
And to counter the argument that what we do to our bodies is nothing compared to the enviroment...I do agree, but what happens in our bodies is sometimes the RESULT of a polluted enviroment...
Take the statement that squid made (beat me to the punch) about how one cow (that feeds about 10-20 people for a few days) requires I believe it is 10 acres to raise and grow to full size. One cow. 5-10 acres. For one cow. One cow in millions of others, being born, consuming acres of land, producing millions of tons of greenhouse gasses per year, then killed to feed america's obsession with meat. You have to have food for that cow...so enter more land for the sole purpose of growing alfalfa...and then tractors for harvesting...they use a lot of gas, those tractors..all those fumes right into the air. Then when the cow has reached maturity, after using all that effort, land, and pollution, it has to be taken by truck (more gas, more pollution) to a slaughtering station which requires mass amounts of electricity to run the place...and sits on large plots of land..and disposes of tons of animal excess daily...and then that animal's slaughtered remains have to be packaged in non biodegradeable plastics and trucked (again, more gas and fumes) to a store. That's a lot for some steak and rib roast.
Take that 10 acres, and take away the cow. Plant potatoes. Corn. Wheat. Vegetables. You will get TONS of plant material that will feed HUNDREDS for WEEKS...sucks up a lot of greenhouse gasses too, for that matter...sure, you have to use tractors, but only one set and not often, and it's going straight for food, not food for food. their leftover organic material gets tilled back into the earth...puts back what it took. Start again.
Lots less pollution, sucks UP some pollution and releases oxygen, and you get more bang for your buck.
And perhaps someone should tell those starving nations of all the grains and food excesses that the US burns yearly...can't release it into the market for free to the starving, that would harm profits.
Damn shame that is. Would harm profits as much as cutting back/eliminating the animal product industry.
Hm..
And I do research everything I read or think. I promise. I'm not a hysteric, I just found the woman's ideas very very thought provoking.
I know the world is going to hell in a handbasket, but that doesn't mean I can't try :)
Even if I die in a fireball, I'll die knowing I saved a few animals some suffering, and that I did what I could...that's better than anything I could think of.
And you can't (or you can, it's your perogative) argue the milk debate, seriously. How can a biological fluid made SPECIFICIALLY FOR INFANT COWS, BY COWS, be benificial to a still forming human child? Or any human? Foreign hormones, antibodies, and body fluids. It's been made so "acceptable" and "natural" yet people gag at the suggestion they drink human milk. Now THAT'S just GROSS! It's not RIGHT! they say.
