um... actually, goth in it's simplest form is very accepting. It started out as a means of letting out emotions and feelings that were shunned or kept under raps by a very capitalist-driven society. The poor saps who were more artistically-driven, and who were constantly being put down for the way they viewed the world, collectivly gave rise to a style, or release. This showed up in the music of the "new romantics". They became open about their "irrelevent" feelings and said screw this identity that is being forced upon me. They became "themselves", and in that, related better to people who were also stuggling just to be themselves. Unfortunately, now it seems as if "goth" kids are just in it for the status. They wanna be "hard", So they get mean and unrealistically cynical to the point that they are not even themseleves anymore. They are just putting on abother mask, just like society wants them to, and are going against everything goth started as.
